Has this been verified? My numbers match.A little extra LE trivia. Only 6 cars have serial numbers that reflect their actual production sequence.
Yes- sorry but i think you misunderstand LE production and vin assignment.Has this been verified? My numbers match.
OK, that makes more sense, thank you.Yes- sorry but i think you misunderstand LE production and vin assignment.
Ford built the LEs throught the entire year.- they did not build them in one long initial run at the start of the year. However Ford set aside aka reserved the first 1,965 2015 Mustang vins (1964 coupes and 1 vert) at the very beginning of S550 production for the LE cars so their vin wound match their collector (dash plate number) number as Ford normally assigns vins as produced aka the 10000 car built gets a vin indicating 10000. Here the LE vins were set aside and not assigned to an LE until it was actually built. LE with the vin indicating 1964 was probably the 50,000th 2015 Mustang to roll off the line despite it having a vin that would otherwise go to the 1964th car built for the year.
Thus LE #1000 with a vin indicating it is tbe 1000th 2015 LE Mustang built is/was built way out if “order” as it may have actually been the 30-40,000th Mustang built for 2015.
The first few 2015 Mustangs physically built were probably LEs thus they matched up to their collector number and real world build sequence. One of the Ford Family (Edisel) had LE number 50 and I suspect it was a match and probably the 50th 2015 Mustang actually built.
Mine is build in Oct 2014, so 50 years from original 1964 Mustang start, so why is it then called a 2015
I vandalised my Pony with 2 stickers, well if it is a 50 year LE so why did they not add the 3 bar logo pony to each side like in 1964
