Who do you let drive your car?

Nope.

This dude was asking to drive my car at a local auto-x implying that I can learn something from him (I was like WTF?!?!). I'm sure I could (like never do that again lol) but I politely said no.

Technically it is my wife's car so she drives it to work in the summer. We let family take it when visiting and I really don't care who drives it at the dealership because I take it to a reputable dealership.

I think any car enthusiast who meets his is obliged to offer him their keys no matter what they drive lol. I let my best friend drive my car, as he and I have both driven every car the other has owned at some point. We actually jointly owned two cars in our late teens. But he released the clutch too fast engaging second and ended up dinging a curb on the PP wheels. So probably no one else will ever drive it again ever.

I let my friends drive my car. It's a great way to get non-car folks to appreciate the gurgly coyote.

Yet, this topic is very controversial, esp on enthusiast fora. I had initiated a thread on here (when my car was new), titled "friends let friends drive their mustangs". Discussions got so heated that an admin locked the thread!

I taught my wife how to drive manual in my old honda and I've had her drive the mustang a few times. I feel its more of a safety thing for me. If we're out somewhere and something were to happen to me, she needs to know how to drive a manual to get me to a hospital or whatever.

A car is always replaceable.

The dealer drove it before I got it, but since then just me and the Ford Mechanic as far as I know. Not too happy with a car that has only 6000 miles and has had to have 5th gear synchronizer replaced and now an exploded clutch.
