  1. SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

Yeah...I knew what I was risking going direct from China, but the seller had a long history of positive feedback selling APIMs and screens. Worked out for me. I wouldn't expect a perfect experience vs going for a known reliable seller, but I don't mind a challenge either. The APIM that I...
  2. SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

Lol. I've had it for 4 years. Works great. Nav, Android auto, everything works fine. If you can offer up a better explanation or more detail about the "software hacks", as I'm a software engineer, I'd be very interested. I did buy your harness for the USB port, though, so thanks :)
  3. SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

Mine was fixed with a couple codes in Forscan. Antenna works fine. Bought the unit from China, so not sure of the manufacturer of the antenna, but the ppl I bought it from seemed to have pretty intricate knowledge of the APIM.
  4. (unconfirmed) Source of AC Evap Failures Possibly Identified [POLL]

Lafayette, IN (Lafayette Ford Lincoln, formerly Mike Raisor Ford).
  5. (unconfirmed) Source of AC Evap Failures Possibly Identified [POLL]

Just had mine replaced on a 2015 EB at around 57,000 miles. Only took 5 trips to the dealer over the course of 2 years to get them to replace it, in which it took them a full month to do the job (paid for by extended warranty). I was driving a Civic for so long I had to re-acclimate my self to...
  6. Class Action Lawsuit for known A/C Evaporator failures on 2015 and 16 models

I'm at 50k miles on my daily driver 2015 EB and just last summer (early sept maybe?) started having issues with the AC. It started by blowing warm out the drivers side. Had it in the shop and they charged it and put dye in. It cooled ok the rest of the season. This spring, when it got warm...
  7. SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

I actually have another GPS module that the seller I bought my unit from is sending me, so i'll give that a try if the ForScan stuff doesn't work out. Thanks for the offer, though!
  8. SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

I did read about about putting foil or or metal under the antenna. I might try that after playing in ForScan. Is the below code the one you changed for transmission type? 7D0-01-02 xx?x xxxx xxxx ? Should be: 8-Automatic Transmission Vehicles, 9-Manual Transmission Vehicles
  9. SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

I did a MFT to Sync 3 w/NAV swap in my 2015. Everything works except I have one really weird issue with navigation. When I get in and start my car, navigation loads and shows my correct location. When I start driving, though, my location on the maps gets increasingly off the more I drive. For...
  10. SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

Lol. I noticed that, but I knew what they meant. And I typed it above, oh well.
  11. SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

Took a chance on a Sync 3 NAV unit on eBay from China, which included VIN programming, hub, GPS module, and adapters and cables for $640. Installed and working great, minus NAV (Navigation fault error). The seller sent me some maps to download and is supposedly sending me something else to help...
  12. Heated / Cooled seats stopped working - no more "click" - can't find the relay

Yeah, looks like they're trying to run too much current through that single ground pin, and the solution is to just split off the ground wire and run it through 2 pins. It looks like maybe some GM brands (Cadillac in particular) have also had the same exact problem because they share supplier...
  13. Heated / Cooled seats stopped working - no more "click" - can't find the relay

Did you get this repaired already? Found the below TSB related to an 07-08 Expedition which it looks like has the exact same connector and refers to the same damaged pin "M". http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/adchambers3398/2012-01-25_024147_tsb08-23-11.pdf Found in this thread which has more...
  14. DIY LED Shift Light: CAN Bus Hack

Lol. I don't think it's anything too special. Pretty much basic Arduino stuff and the Neopixel libraries make it ultra easy to control the LED strips. I'm sure it's been done already, but the process of doing it yourself is the fun part. I ordered a rotary encoder so I can make the shift point...
  15. DIY LED Shift Light: CAN Bus Hack

Should be pretty easy. Dealing with roof work on my house or i'd have something more done by now. :headbonk:
  16. Changing sync2 MFT to sync 3 with 4dtech.com?

What should we look for on car-part.com? I see a ton of "receivers" but not much detail. Any specific id or part number for the APIM, or is the APIM the receiver?
  17. Preparing for winter and/or storage?

Fuck that, I drive mine all year. 90+ deg summers and snowy winters. :D
  18. DIY LED Shift Light: CAN Bus Hack

Oh, gotcha there. Interesting idea. Will have to do some research on that part.
  19. DIY LED Shift Light: CAN Bus Hack

I have no idea? Has someone done that already? The purpose of this is DIY, though. That and it could potentially do much more than just shift lights if you wanted it to. There are pros and cons to everything.
