Ok, question.

Why does my car not have the boost/vacuum gauge in the digital screen between the gauges?

I thought this was only an ecoboost thing but someone I know with a GT has this digital gauge.

Confused,

Jaime

These are the pictures of the digital gauge in his car.

He has an premium GT automatic without the PP. I'm guessing the dash mounted analog gauges d/c the digital gauge???

Makes me wonder even more if the ecoboost PP gauges will work in the GT now???

Hmmmmm. But I am bummed that the PP doesn't also get the digital gauge :(

Then the dash mounted gauge should have come with boost also.

Would have been nice. I am hoping swapping the vacuum/oil gauge from GT with an ecoboost oil/boost gauge will work.

Probably not with my luck. It's probably tied to the PCM in some way. I am patiently waiting for a nice aftermarket way to install a boost gauge that isn't in the vent.

So it must be at the very least non PP cars. Wonder if non PP manual cars have the digital gauge?

Jaime,

I think it may be related to build date? Our's were the first run. I can attest my Base GT does not have one, I (as far as I know) do not have digital gauges in my car, only the 'mechanical' ones from the Performance Package.

Now I have to go put pants on and check.

Phil what is the build date of your car and are you referring to the center stack gauges between the tach and speedo?

I don't see why an ECO boost gauge wouldn't work, it would be using the same signal from the PCM, what happens to your stock gauge when you are in boost? Does it stop at zero?

I thought about the first run thing but think it may be a PP thing??? Kinda a bummer now that I have the Whipple.

I am betting on this but my friend at Tasca Mod Shop thinks it may be tied to the PCM in some way and doubts it will just plug and play. I have one on order but it's a back ordered # and have no idea when it will show up in the order banks.

And when my car goes into boost the vacuum gauge goes to zero. This is what makes me believe the Eco boost gauge will work.

Jaime

My understanding is the PCM calculates what it thinks boost is. It doesn't have a direct source. My stock gauge reads boost too when in track apps but its a couple pounds off..

Interesting. I may play around behind the PP gauges and see if they can be removed and if a pair of autometer gauges can be put in their place.
