Well, with the help of :hail: db252, the TSS OPG's, CS and ATI damper are done(still waiting for the Whipple to arrive). While we were up in the car's guts, we decided to do the Boss 302 primary tensioners, MMR secondary tensioner bracket and the MMR lightweight water pump pulley. Didn't take video, as I originally planned :tsk: but grabbed photos. Even then, I didn't take as many as I'd hoped. Dave had to remind me :headbonk: because once we started rolling, I was hyper-focused on each step. I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance. I'll try to be more vigilant with the photos during Whipple install, but can't make any promises, as I tend to be a nervous nelly when turning wrenches. Huge thanks to db252 for spending his days off helping me get this done. Oh, and Roh92cp thanks for baking the ATI damper, it was delicious:thumbsup:
I was just overlook and mentally guided you. You did most of the work and did a real good job. That was a lot of fun and looking forward to the Whipple install. Going to bring a directors chair and a megaphone for that job. I'll be your photographer to help with your hyper focus.

It's not just you. The local Roush dealer quoted me $12,500 to install just the Stage 1 SC on my car......kit lists for something like $6,900 so they basically wanted $5K for the install.....and they never budged off that quote. After much frustration, if found a shop 500 miles away that I felt I could trust and they did a great job in the end for a reasonable cost. I had the FRPP Stage 1 SC, GT350R Steering Wheel, FRPP Short Shift Kit, FRPP X-Pipe and a JLT catch can installed, with dyno tune for +/- $10K....including the cost to ship the car 500 miles and my plane flight to go pick it up when it was done.
I had mine installed by the dealer where I bought my 16 GT-P new: $6900 for the Roush Phase 1... $1000 for the install.

So what they were going to charge was past the line into theft.

Been awhile since my last post because I've been wrapping things up and finding more things to "improve". First and foremost, a huge thanks to db252 for intervening and helping me out with both the OPG and Whipple installs. Couldn't have done it without the assistance. And to Roh92cp for intially encouraging me to take on the project myself. Had a blast and learned a ton about the S550 and the 6g community. Great group of humans, with vast amounts of knowledge, experience and networking abilities.

Everything is up and running smoothly. I'll post some more pics in a few days. If there are members out there that have any questions about the install or are contemplating doing this themselves, please feel free to shoot me a PM. Thanks again to all the members that contributed.

Nice pics Jay, glad to see it's in and your now officially bonded with your car. Nothing like getting it done with your own hands. You were in good hands for sure with Dave AKA the baker:thumbsup:

Thanks, Shawn. Have more pics, just need to get them to orient to the screen correctly. :frusty: There's definitely an assurance with doing the install yourself. Next thing is to try your airbox mod. Just waiting for Whipple to come out with the smaller filter so I can do it all at once.

It was a great time doing the install. You did a great job yourself and I was there just as a shadow. Glad that it's done but bummed that it's over.......hoping another local someone wants to do an install with help.

He's already running your sound tube mod......I think he did it the day after the job buttoned up and was on the street. Once he rode in mine, before we did the Whipple on his car, he knew immediately that he wanted it.

4orceFed if you still have your filter off, can you take the measurements of the filter?

Evo_Rob. Everything is back together, but we might have db252's air filter off tomorrow. We'll take measurements tomorrow.

Much appreciated! Mainly just wanted to double check interior diameter and length.
