Whipple 2.9 , how to remove Intake Air Filter?

Im wondering if theres an easy way to remove the filter for cleaning. Because I had to disconnect the intake tube from tb and box, remove the adaptor that connects to the box and holds the actual filter in order to get it out without damaging it

It is tight that's for sure. This may not seem the easiest but I unbolt the MAF from the Venturi ring the filter clamps to by removing the four 6mm Allen head. Then push the tip of filter down into box and maneuver it up and out big end first.

Yea almost feel the need in hacking into the box and body panel and do some adjusting lol

Thanks to Dave aka db252 Whipple will have a shorter filter that will not be so close the the side panel and ground contacts. This will also make it easier to remove.

Yes, Whipple is testing a new shorter filter making sure it doesn't interfere with intake needs and will have benefits such as easier removal for cleaning and no longer interfering with the ground strap on the inside fender which for some of us, rubs and if it breaks causes an electrical nightmare for the car such as what happened to me and another so far. Maybe others as well as it's hard to diagnose when it does happen and others may not relate it to the filter.

A little dirt is suppose to get on these filters, over cleaning and oiling only get mass air oily. Unless you driving in a dessert every 50k miles is all is needed, and even then, it still isn't an actual restriction or loss of hp. Would be neat to see a dyno comparison to prove it from a totally dirty filter to a brand new one.
