Now that Spring showed up!! Mustangs with tops down all over the Twin Cities... Okay I only saw one vert as of yet...

I was at the MPLS Auto Show yesterday and this GT350 had GT350R tid bits. It was badged 350 but had the R wheels and a blank over the stereo area that had an R on it. And the R spoiler I think. So, it might be a Hybrid....

Anyway, it was pretty much the sole reason to go to the auto show for me! This car is awesome in photos but way more awesomer in real life!! You have to see it!!:ford:

That is a GT350R at the Mpls show. The side badges all say GT350, the badge in the grill is red and has the R on it.

When I signed up for the Car show and the dinner it said this:

"Guest VIP speakers will be giving presentations and talks at dinner. Jim Owens (Ford's Shelby/Boss/50th Marketing Manager) will be on hand with a new GT350 and possibly something else (?!?!?)."

What do you think the (?!?!?) means? GT500? or MACH 1?:shrug:

What ever it is be sure to take pictures, if you can!

Current plans and schedule call for the white GT350 that was at Barrett-Jackson to be at TWS. Jim will be bringing a '15 GT with Track Pack for driving on the track. I know that in the past he has given ride-alongs, so that is a possibility. I have asked whether the 350 will be static only or if it will at least do parade laps.

The Mustang Merchandise Trailer (18 wheeler) will also be there (it's ONLY scheduled Texas stop!)

Lots of vendors, TONS of cars, great food and more!

There will be large groups coming from almost every city in Texas. Check with your local clubs for details.

I asked one of the Ford Motor Company Product Specialist that does the shows and she said no formal schedule for the GT350 appearances, but NYC Autoshow in April for sure! At least not that she would tell me.

I saw the GT350 and the new GT at the recent Cleveland auto show.

The GT350 looked OK; don't care for the wing. I'm more excited for the powertrain.

The GT looked amazing and it's definitely a nice updated design; some talking figure head from a local dealer said they will be $250,000+.

Damn- I just love those blue stripes with the red edge against the white car. If Ford wasn't going to build an actual car with that combo I'd buy white as a DD and stripe it that way--but I just can't see doing it on an EB when the "R" will become a reality (too poserish).

Yep. They said the GT will be priced similarly to an Aventador. To me that's completely ridiculous. Who in their right mind would would choose the FGT over an Aventador?? Lambo with high-revving V12 or Ford with turbo V6? LOL I understand they're trying to make it more exclusive but still, in terms of desirability, the FGT is still behind the Ferrari 488 and Lambo Huracan imo, let alone an Aventador...:doh:

A lot might depend on performance specs. I remember seeing a mag review of the last Ford GT and it did great, cost less and performed better than some of the competition. I think the Lambo had to be trailered away due to clutch failure, and the mag still rated the Lambo over the GT.

Some will always assume an Italian car must be better than a Ford. No reason to worry about them.
