Hi Phil.
Now this whole recall doesn't make sense. It sounds complete bullshit to me. If they have the correct seat belts for cars built after yours (incl. my car supposedly built on the 16th Oct) surely they would have some spares they could use and if not, why couldn't they let your car go on the boat and airfreight the seat belts to Melbourne to meet your car when it gets there. That would save over a month on the delivery time.
Ian.

Phil, that sucks completely. ..I cannot believe the rubbish that comes from Ford.
The new belts cannot be as far away as they say, they are still building the cars on the assembly line, what belts are they using for those....there has to be stock of the correct ones or the line would be shut down.
That poor cat is getting a kicking from a lot of people.....

Seriously though, is anyone even remotely surprised about this setback? It is Ford after all.

That being said... Thank God my car is being built right now and not October

Nah... doubt it. I've sent them a threat notice that will prevent them from stuffing up my car. Not sure about others though

Thanks for all the commiserations guys, I am just so filthy on it all right now
If you feel inclined have a look at the order/price/ tracking section for the thread "build week Sept 28"
There are now 47 pages of posts from irate members of the illustrious 1900 buyers
May confusion reign supreme!
Cheers

ETIS shows my build date as 13 October.
My dealer says delivery is still scheduled for late December.
Given delays and recalls people on this forum have discussed, when is a realistic delivery date? My guesstimate is 3 months based on what I've read here.
So maybe mid January? A 4 week delay from original ETA is not too bad in the real world, comms could be better though. I just hope it doesn't go past January!

What day delivery for the first Mustang in Oz?
