My dealer bends over backwards for me whenever I have a question (admittedly there haven't been many).

All emails are answered promptly and the information is well researched - he hasn't let me down yet.

If they keep it up, I'll be getting the car serviced there too (even though there are several Ford dealerships closer to my place).

Hell, I have a dealer two minutes drive away who didn't even bother responding to an email enquiry I made the day before I placed my order. So a big FU to that dealer (lost not only a sale, but also ongoing servicing).

Yeah there are some pretty shitty ones. Very first one I went to (Blacktown), the guy literally asked me "why are you asking if the deposit is refundable? are you not serious about buying it?".

I can understand your frustration of apparently being in the second batch of deliveries given your order date.

Did your dealer forget to upload your order?

My dealer is awesome, which is why I've bought multiple cars from them. But I still think Ford Australia needs to improve the communication - I agree it isn't right that people can get information from overseas but not locally. That sort of thing shouldn't happen.

Ford said in their welcome email that they would email when production commenced which has obviously never happened.

We have people here who have spent 60+ grand on cars, yet evidently Ford aren't giving anyone information.

Nope you for some reason jumped the queue like others. There is no explanation from ford as to why some ppl who ordered far earlier are receiving cars later.

Dealer size? Dealer allocation I expect. But ford won't confirm

It's a hit or miss with dealers, it really is. That inconsistency is also frustrating, especially when it comes to choosing one to lay down the deposit if you don't have previous contacts from previous purchases.

My current dealer is excellent and always helpful, with the limited info they have from Ford.

The first mob in Perth I went to didn't even want to commit to a drive away price after RRP was released, because "We could be selling these for 85K if we wanted to".

Not when the RRP is 55K you can't.

Some poor bastard on whirlpool forums did just that, committed with them for a drive away price of 79K.

Ford should also be policing that, because that's just unacceptable from a dealership, and this price fluctuation doesn't typically happen on the more 'premium' brands.

Can't be. Mine was at a huge dealership and still got set back even with an early pre-order.

I was like number 11 or 12 on the list, which is currently at 115~ last I checked.

In July, Ford had contacted 7 people who had ordered from my dealer. Indication was I'd be in the next batch.

... Ford was meant to be confirming the next batch by end of September (I was told by the dealer). Seems that didn't happen.

... two weeks ago dealer was still checking daily for updates - none yet, but "Ford will definitely have it this month."

Let's see if Ford keeps their promises to the dealers, only a week to go!

Honestly there is a serious case here for multiple legal reasons, Ford will be lucky if things don't turn south for them sooner or later. I hope everyone is able to get what they paid for sooner or later

Possible bad news , men, we may not be out of the woods yet!
I was out at Ford NZ this morning perving over a black ecoboost rhd that they landed about 3 weeks ago as a pre-production model
I ran into a bloke from my dealership who told there is a fumigation problem at the Baltimore port complex and they could only do 25 cars per day
I understand this is a US export requirement not an NZ/OZ import issue
Accordingly just because the vins are loaded against the Parsifal on the WW website doesn't guarantee shipment because if individual cars are not fumigated by the time the Parsifal sails next week, they won't be leaving and will be left for the next boat and so on
Just as well I love my HSV, seems like I could be driving it for some time longer than expected
Wished I'd never gone to have a look at the Mustang and never had the conversation!
Sometimes maybe we just know too much for our own good
Here's hoping I'm totally wrong!
Cheers

As you probably know, I ordered my car on the 1st July 2014. It is only just being or been built, but I would not have known that if I had not discovered this forum.
Ian.
