Hi guys,

I've had my Mustang for a week now & I've just had chance over the weekend to clean her properly. One thing I've noticed is the silver custom pack wheels have been painted black on the inside faces. They look to have been masked-up fairly well & sprayed on their inside.

Has anybody else seen this? I'm wondering whether I should speak to my dealer & ask if they know anything about it.

Here's a couple of photos taken this morning.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Adrian.

I think it's a good design, makes the wheels really easy to keep clean .

Both sets of Nickel wheels (one set for summer and one for winter) that I have are 100% silver. Does your car have chrome around the windows?

From his previous posts of his LB car, yes it does have chrome trim. Be interesting if there's any other recently picked up CP owners to test this theory on.

mines from oct last year silver on the inside (apart from excessive overspray)

I'm leaning more towards it not being intentional but it just being underseal they've now got so bad they don't put it on the car just the wheels

My car is 6 weeks old, the wheels are darker on the inside, almost a gunmetal sort of colour, perhaps the latest ones are all the same?

This is fairly normal; I've had new cars in the past with black-interior painted wheels (the Monaro for one).

+1

Mine are all silver, but took a lot of elbow grease, claybar and tardis solvent to get the underspray off the rims - it was everywhere :(

Most likely dealer sprayed them to hide the mess (unless they now do it when they do the underseal?) as Ford Parts replacement rims are also all silver.
