I've been thinking of getting this done. Was quoted £300 for dipping!

The removal of the plastic parts, is there a guide to do this? I'm terrible with DIY so that's the one issue I see!
£300 for dipping is a good price, i'd just question their pricing, because the items do need to be flattened first, which will add to the cost, (don't want to dip on textured plastics).

Front is clips and bolts, rear is clips and bolts, side skirts is clips bolts and 2 rivets that need to be drilled out, it's all fairly self explanitory when you get under there, however this will help. If you don't have a small drill you'll need to remove the rear wheels (front rivet on the skirts you can get to without removing wheels)

I did all the removal without a jack or the car being up, when he states 'pull the diffuser down' remove the bolts and two clips on the diffuser first makes it WAY WAY WAY easier.

Very interested in this but cannot decide upon the black, colour coded or dipped.

Need to see some DIB cars with their bits done to make a decision.

After the wolves meet I decided I needed some carbon in my life. So for the skirts, splitters etc I am looking to get these in CF or indeed dipped to give the appearance. THere was a really nice competition orange at the meet that had it done, not sure if they were dipped or pure CF. SO who knows who is best to do this?? I think the look would suit a magnetic paint job, was thinking gloss black but the decision is carbon? I was going to post another three but tagging on to this if OK?

Here's fine, you're more than welcome to use these spares to be dipped and exchange them back to me with your parts once they're done.
The Orange 5.0 is real carbon fiber, as was the black one with CP and black stripes that is owned by Jury .

Snorty has Dipped carbon fibre exterior plastics, and i've got a dipped carbon interior.

Dipping is great if you get a decent dipper, as 'real carbon' is set in resin so it's actuall fairly glossy, you can also determine how 'dark' you want it by setting the dip colour up a colour underneath, i went with a graphite grey, others have gone with lighter greys, some with silvers, others with darker greys. So it's really buyers choice. Look for a dipping chap near you, I used Hydroworxx aka Bodyworx by wayne durose (owned by the same company) amazing work, but takes a while to get parts done, but I can't fault the parts i've had or the price at all. They're in Burton Upon Trent.

OK so I get this (it's late and I have been travelling all week !!)

If I join the list in effect I would get the spare set from the person before me in the line, Clearly I would need to get said spare set and then get them dipped swapped and then my spare set to you for the next on the list? Mine is a GT, so how is that managed or is it a case you have both GT and EB splitters and mix the sets to match....I assume it's this, but it's late :)

If so then I will go for this for sure, but let me find some decent "dippers" and assess how long it takes and lead times. I don't want to hold up the process if my procedure is slightly longer but I can at least find out options and recommendations in the meantime. So please add me to the GT list whilst I work out who is best. If the lead time is a little longer I can go further down the list.

Great idea though top marks for process management.

Goosey The offer is for someone Manders knows to paint them :) You collect, replace the painted ones with yours, and the loop starts again.

Yes I agree with that but I want to go the carbon route hence making sure I don't cock up any process by going off track. If it's possible then I would happily wait to the back of any queue rather than hold up those wanting it ASAP.

Pedestrian he's welcome to borrow the parts to have them dipped as long as he send me his old bits :).

Goosey, I've replied to your PM mate, let me know if you need any further details?

I believe we only have one "spare" set doing the rounds, & the splitter is currently an EB version? We might want to source a GT splitter, too so we can give the next in line the choice of either? I velieve the side skirts & rear diffuser are the same for both models, so it's only the splitter we'd need. Mine has already been done, otherwise I'd happily offer it up, so we'd need to find someone who's had real carbon one fitted & not yet disposed of their stock splitter (which rules out Jury, as his is on my car!).

Cheers for setting this up Manders. I'm not on the list yet but considering it as yours looked pretty pimp at Wolves

Think I'd asked Mac, who'd scrapped his,
Ed from Muscle Works who's sent me the brace form his (has the actual splitter as well, but wanted to keep it for when he sells.
I'll see if Fortis have theirs when I'm there next Saturday.

The spare set is currently:
EB Splitter / GT non-PP splitter
Side skirts x2 (2 side skirts not 2 sets)
Rear Valance

The Side skirts and rear valance are the same for all models (in the UK at least), the Splitter is slightly smaller than the GT splitter without the brace, however does fit a GT.

I'm modding the EB tonight to fit the GT splitter to mine
