This week's Wheel Wednesday are the 17-inch multi-spoke items from a Suzuki Swift Sport........................

This car was a neighbors, who has since passed. She was one of the nicest people you could meet, and real petrol head too.......................................

The Swift Sport was essentially a Fiesta ST competitor. Although it had noticeably less power than a Fiesta ST, it was also quite a bit lighter. These cars aren't my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal and after driving it a couple of times, it's certainly fun to drive.

I really like the looks of those wheels, D but they also look like a pain to clean.

LOVED the shot of your former neighbor, may she rest in peace. Decided to give her a bit of lovins with her photo.

Figured I might as well show off Sarah's wheels, too. <grin>

This week, the superbly simple but effective 18-inch items that featured on my Tickford T3 TS50 -

These wheels were fitted to the one-year-only T3 TS50, with less than 220 manufactured between November 2001 and September 2002. All T3 models (TE50, TS50, TL50) were fitted with a hand built stroked Windsor V8, taking capacity from 5.0 to 5.6 liters. Both a 5-speed Tremec manual and BTR 4-speed auto were offered, mine was an auto. All engines had the signature of the engine builder on the right-hand rocker cover, and all cars had a build number, mine was number 154 -

I bought the car from the original owner in January 2012 with only 47,000 km / 29,000 miles on the clock. This was also my first V8, and what a lovely noise it made too. Very few Falcon's have as much presence on the road as this Tickford T3 TS50. The original tag line for the car was "Own The Road"...................

I sold the car in late 2014 in anticipation of my current Falcon XR8, it hitting the road to be transported to its new owner, who contacts me from time to time to let me know how its going. When it arrived at the new owner, the battery died during the journey and ended up needing a jump start to get it off the truck..................all while holding up traffic outside the guys shop on the main street. I felt terrible about that, but sh.t happens.

DSC-0015.jpg

It was pretty sketchy getting the thing on the truck, the ultra-low bumpers posed a bit of a problem, and that was with the factory ride height.

I do miss the exuberance of this car, the bright "Blueprint" paint, the shouty body kit and spoiler, the glorious noises it made. I'm sure I'll regret selling this car one day, but I wanted to have one of the last Falcon's, so it was goodby to the "Ticker".

How can I not post these wheels again after all the time and effort put into them in recently.

Removed from the car, washed and fully decontaminated with an iron remover, clay bar, tar and adhesive removal. Tires then stripped back with Tarminator.

IMG_9814.jpg

Once fully clean, they were then polished, wiped down with prep spray, then ceramic coated.

Wheel arches and calipers were cleaned, and new dust shields ceramic coated and installed.

Wheels reinstalled with new-old-stock lug nuts and torqued to spec.................

IMG_9800.jpg

Tires denibbed..........................

A month later, new rotors, pads and stainless steel brake lines installed.....................................

Freshly polished, ceramic coated and new braking hardware, giving my 15-year-old Blue Rocket a new lease on life. :)

Well whaddaya know, D has a Toob channel and it looks like you started it fairly recently, excellent idea, matey! <smile>

But dude, you have my sympathies as I know what's required. But, if you put your unmatched diligence and attention to detail to the project, the channel is bound to be successful..good luck!

Yes, I am now having a go at some videos, nothing stellar at this point though.

And very eclectic. What did you think of my grandfather's 1970's green lawnmower?

And yes, a two-stroke, hence the smoke! Not started in over a decade, had to unclog the carbon out of the muffler but running as strong as it did when I put it away in storage.

Amazing that it ran after TEN years, (after a little love, that is.) I liked that Rover Combat, too.

Regarding YT and video recording, I see that the Victa restoration clip is the only one you shot in vertical mode. Did you do that intentionally? Me thinks not, based on the other vids.

Anyway, it's only good for Shorts, not so for most every other subject. Reason is, you lose basically two thirds of the possible sensor pixels.

For example, here's a natural landscape image in vertical mode.

And this is the same shot in horizontal mode with the area on the two sides being the lost pixels when shot in vertical.

I realize that it's a whole lot easier to hold a phone vertically but obviously, horizontal is pretty much mandatory for anything but Shorts. (For that reason,I would move the "Green Hornet" <grin> clip over to Shorts.

And speaking of holding the camera, you did a helluva job on the XR6 Rinse down clip and boy, did I enjoy the sound of the Kranzle. <smiling> But, I KNOW your right arm got tired working against the recoil from the PW but you did a great shop of holding it and panning.

So, best of luck on the Toob adventure, it's a chidtload of work and a ton of time learning your video editor to produce a good vid for your audience. But hey, you now have one more sub. <chuckling>

Believe me, it was not intentional! For some reason, my phone decided to flip the original, then it wouldn’t format on my computer, spent too long trying to get it to work and gave up in frustration and posted it anyway. Believe me, not what I wanted to present! Anyway, I try to shoot videos on a proper camera now. Bloody Apple!

And thanks for the sub, not doing to get rich and famous, just sharing cool stuff.

That's that I thought, D and yep, phones can do that. My guess is the phone thought you had it upside down so it picked that orientation. I've had it happen before.
Exactly what it did, then because it was effectively "edited" on the phone, it wouldn't allow the video to edited on my computer. I was beyond annoyed because of what that moment meant to me.

And you also have a new subscriber! :like:

I ordered tyres for these today, which should be mounted and balanced next week. I wont fit them to the car until I have had a chance to coat them in late January.

I don't know how many different designs you viewed D but, you picked a PERFECT one for the vehicle. HUGE difference and can't wait to see them on.

Only two designs, both Ford OEM 16-inch alloy wheels. I want to stay the with the same wheel and tyre size for simplicity. Because no one wants basic 16-inch wheels, except me :giggle: , I got them for cheap!

The other wheel I looked at was the earlier PX Series 1 XLS design. I don't like how the spokes bow out in the middle, and they look too chunky.

The wheels I did go with are also from an XLS (one up from the base XL I have with steel wheels), these are period correct for my PX Series 2.
