Hello fellow horses!

So I have been debating getting wheel spacers for a while. I want to go for 25mm both front and back. I'm getting quality Hub-centric Billet Aluminum ones with extended studs. I have the factory 18" rims with the factory P235/50 ZR18 97W tires. (2016 V6 Mustang)

My questions are:

Is 25mm up front too much? Safety? Handling? Stress on the front axle? uneven tire wear?

Will I need to realign the car after installation?

Any downsides to spacers in general?

Any other notes or advice from someone who tried similar spacers, or spacers in general?

--25mm is generally fine for the front and most run the same 25mm on the rear...You have a V-6 car w/ 18" wheels so it may require some digging to find others that have done them on your combo.
--NO alignment required, you are doing nothing to affect it
--NO additional tire wear should be expected
--Downsides?? Increased wheel bearing load and eventually wear. Increased scrub radius in the front (Google it). This should get you started..
--Advice? If you do install spacers be sure the factory studs are clean and use RED loctite on the studs that attach the spacer to the car. Be sure you use a good torque wrench on both sets of nuts..Torque spec on the S550 is 150 ft/lbs if it has 14mm studs..Which I assume a V-6 car has as well..

Downside?

Sure.....

Wheel-bearings. You will be replacing them pretty often.

I ran 25mm spacers for a little while and didn't notice any difference in handling but not long enough to determine any issues with tire wear or bearings.

Hard to tell from this picture but you'll get a slight amount of poke from the rear and none in the front.

25 mm in the back will poke. If you are like me and hate poke, I would strongly recommend going with 20 mm in the back. 25 mm in the front works fine.

Do you plan on upgrading your wheels and tires in the near future? If so, don't waste your money and put those $$ to investing in wheels and tires with the proper offsets.

All you need to know.

I've been running 1 inch spacers for a year now, and no issues. I put blue loctite on them.

Does anybody know anyone who has actually had to replace a front wheel bearing so far? People make this sound like you're replacing bearings every couple of months, but I think its pretty overblown.

Is there more stress on the hub? Yes certainly. Do people actually have common failures on the front wheel bearings? Not that I've seen or heard. I know PLENTY of rear wheel bearings that have gone out, and I'm on my 3rd replacement in the rear, but the front wheel bearings seem to hold up pretty well, spacers or no.

Another con I've read about is the tires throwing more road trash onto the paint. I think it was mentioned in one of the mud flaps/splash guards threads.

No more than running an equivalent offset wheel.

Not really an issue with the rear wheels. Dinging your paint happens (slowly over time) if you push the front wheels out too far tho.
