Hello everyone,

I have a 4.09 gear ratio on my 2016 GT/CS (auto) with 19x8.5 and 255 Continental extreme contact tires.

I found a specific wheel I want and it's available in 19x9/10 and 20x9/10.5. My use for the car is DD but I also like to mess around in it when I drive around.

What set up would you guys recommend given the gear ratio and for my needs? I'm new to this kind of stuff and I couldn't find a thread regarding gear ratio and tire size. Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you.

You didn't mention the tire. Pick the tire, then the wheel.

I would do (have done) 10" square or 10 F/11" R.

Just keep the overall height the same if you want to keep the same ratio, or if you want a little more/less, adjust the setup and use one of many online calculators to figure out your effective ratio - for example:

That's my stock and aftermarket setup :)

If you get a proper offset/backspace, you can tuck a pretty stout tire setup, not OEM inset, but nicely flush (very OEM-ish looking).

I just shot this photo over the weekend and you can see what a terrific fitment I have running a 305/35-20 rear and 285/35-20 front, lowered on BMR SP 080s, note that's also the exact same front-to-rear ratio as the stock setup, so no concern over stability control, etc., having any issues :) Wheels are 20x10 and 20x11 MRR M600s in a satin black finish.

I'd recommend reaching out to Paul at PK Auto Design. He's a genius when it comes to wheel setups based on what YOU want the outcome to be. He's a great vendor here on our forums.

I'm sticking with Continental if I can. I really like how they felt after the stock Pirellis.

Your setup looks incredible! I'll look into the calculator.
