Wheel diameter and offset question...

Let's take a 19 x 10 and 20 x 10 , both with +35mm offsets. Will one have more clearance to the front strut? The same?

Since you'll be accommodating for the larger diameter wheel with a shorter tire, the clearances should remain within mm of each other. Strut clearance won't change much unless you change the wheel width.

Thanks. I currently have 20 x 10 on the front with a +35mm offset, 285/30 tire. There's not much clearance to the strut. I'm switching to 19 x 10 +42mm front using a 1/4" spacer with a 285/35 tire. I hope it fits.

Your overall diameter is shrinking by 11 mm. Your offset change is almost a wash between your higher offset wheel and your spacer. Your strut clearance will grow a little with the new setup.

Actually, unless I'm missing something, the overall diameter of the 285/35/19 is *increasing* 2.5mm over the 285/30/20. 26.9" vs 26.8"

285/35/19 overall diameter 582.35 mm

decrease - 11.15mm
