I'm trying to decide what to do for upgraded wheels. I've been chatting with Paul and he's suggested BC Wheels. I don't know anything about the brand, but they look nice. They come in at about $3300 a set. Anyone have experience with these wheels or higher end wheels like HRE? How much more can I score a set of HRE's for? Who has a good connection?

Thank you!

I have HREs and they are dope. I went with their FlowForms for about $2500 a set (got two set for a deal since I was looking for a set for another car too). If not FlowForms, I would have went with their higher end set. They are lightweight and the quality is there. I also choose HRE for what they are and how they go further to get certain certifications.

First question is do you plan to track the car? If yes then what tires will you be running and how often will you track it? A couple articles that will help explain the differences in wheel construction.

I do not plan on tracking, simply for show. However, I want to make sure I'm getting the most bang for my buck. So, I'm looking for experience from others. I've seen the many posts on the Project 6g wheels and wanted some other opinions and get a feel for prices paid.

HRE Flowform is their "inexpensive" cast wheel series (I think they only have 2 models). Their forged wheels are significantly stronger and lighter with more intricate designs (for more money of course). I was looking at the HRE P101 or P106 for my 997.2tt and quotes were coming in between $8,200 and $8,600 for 20" wheels with standard finish (no tires). I went with Forgeline monoblock forged wheels (GE1) for about the same price but that price included tires and an upgraded brushed finish. I've not picked out wheels for my GT350 yet.

You do want to be careful of what you buy. People were purchasing wheels from Race Tech Forged also known as Race Tech Motoring or RTM and it looks like there are issues with the wheels (some cracked, some reports show the wheels were cast and not forged, etc). If you feel like a good read, you can find the info here: http://rennlist.com/forums/997-turbo-forum/965943-race-tech-forged-owes-me-5000-a.html
