@Mike Pfeifer :thumbsup: mentioned it was a vacuum reservoir.

I've attempted to find a Ecoboost vacuum layout, but could not. FWIW, I do think I've identified the part.

What does it help control? Anything that needs a vacuum.

While driving, the amount of vacuum available (measured in "Hg" or inches of mercury) varies with throttle. While at a stop and idling, vacuum is maximum. But at WOT, vacuum is minimal.

The reservoir is there like a gas tank. When you need to operate a vacuum-controlled device, the tank ensures vacuum is available to it.

Potentially affecting so many items, I don't mess with things like that. The Engineers put it there for a reason.
