Puzzled...what is this for?

Just noticed this hole in my door just above the two star bolts...looks like it could accept the spare door key from the fob but I don't wanna try it lol.

Any idea what it's for?

It's for locking the doors with a dead battery. If I read the linked manual below correctly when you have a dead battery you can unlock with the key in the door handle but to lock use this location. Page 58-59

I kind of like the keyless stuff, but damn do cars with drive-by-wire throttles lack responsiveness from the factory. Nothing like cracking a throttle with no computers in the way to nanny your intentions.

Never in a million years would I want to go back to having to take my key out of my pocket - except at the end of the day when I hang them on the fridge.
