I have a whipple stage 2 installed with the dual fan upgrade.

While waiting in a drive thru I noticed on the gauge cluster the IAT (Intake Air Temp) got up to and stayed around 123-124 degrees.

Within a quarter of a block it dropped back to 90.

Should I be concerned?

Also while we are at it.

What is the normal temperature range for the head temp?

That is typical while sitting. High is like 160+mph during a 1 mile pull.

This has been talked about a lot. Your IATs are being read pre SC, IAT1. I have the same setup but different tune and monitoring my IATs post SC, IAT2. The highest that mine get are when I am setting in the damn school line for 30 mins. It will get up to 113 - 116 degrees and that is in Tampa, FL. Cruising around my IATs are around 98 - 102 with the outside temps being 85 - 90 degrees. In March I had my car on the dyno. The dyno bay was 93 degrees and my IATs WOT averaged 104 - 108 for all 7 pulls.

As long as your car is tuned to deal with increasing IAT's, the temp doesn't really matter that much (as long as it doesn't go crazy like over 200 degrees)

Obviously the name of the game is to have the lowest IAT's possible, since cooler air = more dense air. More dense air = more power, and less chance for detonation. ;)

This is why your car always feels faster on a cool night, then heat of a summer day.
