What impact will it have on 6-speed sales that PP is no longer exclusive to manuals?

Autos with Paddles I've driven seem to shift before I would anyways, so not sure how much of a benefit the "automanuals" actual are.

makes you feel like a "driver" .

If you want to feel like a driver buy a manual. If you don't care buy an auto. Point is flappy paddles are pointless on a 10 speed.

thats what i said is a manual makes you feel like a driver when you nail some shifts. glad you can read.. and because its pointless for you doesnt mean its pointless for everyone else. amazingly the same transmission in the camaro is getting high reviews.. is it a DCT or highend setup? probably not but its good for those who want an auto but have times they want to control the shifts in paddle mode.. now is the 10 speed at the level where its satisfying? i dont know.. but im sure the auto people will be happy..

I would have had an auto if I could have gotten it with PP, I think. Especially, in hindsight, knowing that it is the MT82 and not the Tremec transmission.

I will not be bothered flappy-paddling 10 speeds, though. So far haven't read if they will make it work like a 6-speed (if that's feasible).
It was jointly developed by Ford & GM, and it's in the ZL1 Camaro. It appears to be quite good on a track, according to Randy Pobst.

traffic in Jacksonville is bad. No way I would have bought a manual. Would have gotten the PP in my auto if it was available.

There is another thread here that had 40% sourced from a Ford engineer - will try and find it and add the link if my search-fu is working.

I don't see the sales changing much, unless it's purely because an auto is the only PP model available at a specific price the buyer won't pass up.

Obviously there are exceptions, but for the most part, people who want a manual will buy a manual, and those that don't..won't.

it probably wont be a big impact but it will we have already had people say that if the PP was available in auto they would have went that way and bought manual only to get the PP

I work for an automotive production company and I get these numbers sent to me quarterly. 2016 numbers should be here in about a week or so and I can update it. For now I have accurate MT vs Auto (all engines) sales for MY2015.

2015 Manual: 21,798
2015 Automatic: 88,850

Breakdown of 2015 5.0's

5.0 Manuals: 8,619
5.0 Automatics: 35,133

I can't go down into PP vs non. But I did break out the GT/Anniversary cars. These are purchased by us thru a sourcing company that gets all of their information from the major manufacturers. I even have Opel production numbers lol. Hopefully this puts this to rest for now.

Pp should have been available on automatics in the 15 to 17 models.
Yeah. Since it was available on the anniversary GTs with automatics in 2015, it made no sense to me for it to be off-limits for 2016 (or 2017 if Ford wanted those 2015 owners to feel special for at least one more model year).

Ford did a lot of stuff that didn't make sense for the '15-'17. Making up for it in spades with the '18.

So we also see that for 2015 the GT accounted for 39.5% of all Mustang Sales.

Do you have the # of Ecoboosts vs V6 as well? This is a common question that pops up on these forums.
