Today at lunch took the car, 0 issues whatsoever.

Today going home, car did not want to shift into 1st.

Shifts between 1-2 and 1-2-3 are very tough most of the time. Sometimes "normal".

Downshifting from 4th to 3rd seemed easier. But 1-2 and into 3 was like pushing thru rocks often.

Do not see any signs of leaks under the car.

Have a MGW shifter installed this spring, have had no issues with since installed.

Shifter feels normal when car is off, can cycle through the gears easily.

I do notice that as I am in neutral going to first, revving the engine up before engaging I seem to feel more "wobble" than normal.

Has your fluid ever been changed? If not, I’d try bleeding/flushing the entire brake/clutch system until the fluid is clear and then test to see how it feels.

If the fluid bleeding/flush doesn’t work, you may need to pull the tranny, open it up and inspect to determine condition of the reverse shift fork pads. I’ve read at least one thread where someone’s broke apart and led to other issues in their tranny.

FYI, this is about the least invasive option, as they can be easily replaced and upgraded with bronze pads. All that is required is to remove the tranny output flange and tail cover and use a heat gun to get the pads hot (melting) and simply pull them out and replace them with the bronze pads.

The clutch is not fully disengaging because the TOB is not completely actuating the PP springs. Could also be a PP failure.

Very cool post NGOT8R, thanks very cool.

The fluid was changed with BG synchro 2 about a year ago now.

I do beat on the car, not insane, but I've never been scared to slam it around when I want to have some fun.

Car is at a really great Mustang specialty shop now, the best place around I could take it imo, they are going to investigate before we buy any parts, I should know a diagnosis this weekend.

1-2-3 were very hard to go into, 3-4 not as much, and 5-6 were better than the rest. Going from 4-3 it felt pretty normal. From a stop, releasing the clutch to feather it a bit and get it going there's a LOT of chatter and shaking until it engages.
