Ok I got a decision to make guys. I got approved for a 72 month loan at 2.94%. I wanted to go 75 to get the payments down a little, but thats the longest they could go this time. Anyway, I just found a place that has a 16 guard auto 400a with foundry wheels, nav and park assist for just under 33k (awesome price), but they also have an oxford white auto 401a with recaros, adaptive cruise, nav and enhanced security for 35k (9k off). Then I just noticed the other dealership a couple hours away from this one has a ruby red auto 401a with nav for a little under 35k. They would both be about an 8 hour drive depending on which one I decide to check out. I was leaning towards red, but the guard would be rarer and I probably won't find a better price.

I also got mine from Koons two weeks ago. 2016 GT Premium with Performance Package, Nav, Backup Assist, Security package, and the 68B interior upgrade package.

I paid 35.6 out the door. Had to bid the car out against several dealerships, then make another round of trips to get my trade in value up. A couple of the dealers removed the 900 destination fee to compete with Koons, which I got in writing, then showed Koons to get them to remove it. My trade in "profit" basically covered taxes for me, so my OTD price actually ended up right under my internet quoted price of 36k.

Thanks for the quick and detailed reply! I just got a quote from a nearby dealer and they are offering $37k on a mustang(almost the same as yours, but without the advanced security option). They do require trade-in and financing. They also said the deal ends tomorrow and they are not going to extend it. I think they are just trying to hassle me a deal, but I am still wondering if it is the best deal yet. Or I could wait a few month more and order the 2017 on x-plan.

Your trade-in does separate us apart. It saves you almost $2k on tax.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but trading in makes you pay less taxes? Can you please tell me how?

Not sure about other states, but in MD you are taxed on the difference between the sale price of the car and your trade in amount. So, say the car is 30k, and you are given 10k for your trade in. You would be taxed on 20k. That's where the savings on taxes comes in.

I had a great experience at Nick Mayer Ford/Lincoln in Cleveland yesterday. I got a 2016 Base GT yesterday for around $28k out door ($35k sticker)- I had a trade worth $23k so taxes were only a couple hundred bucks; buying w/o trade would have been closer to $30k due to taxes.

They let me test drive a brand new m6 without a salesman- they just told me and my girlfriend "do what you have to do and we'll have you driving home in it later".

Thats a really good price Zimm. Looks like they have some good deals, but they don't have one exactly like I want. btw, I have never had a salesman take a mustang out by myself for a test drive either. It would be nice to take one longer to make sure you would be satisfied (since I'm thinking of going auto this time).

Too much money. I know that on the east coast, you can get fully loaded new GT Premium PP's for 35, 36k, just the car though, not OTD. A thorough look on AutoTrader might be a good idea.

I've seen EB PP and premium for like 32k here (Ohio). Anything that high, and I would just go for a GT.

Really? I've been on two test drives, each about 30 minutes and they've been by myself. Perhaps the area you live in?

$36k for a EB seems crazy. I was $32k OTD for my GT. It was a base but I'd take a stripped down GT over a fully loaded EB any day.

I'd go used on EB. Check out Bill Luke Dodge in Phoenix. They have like 10 EB premiums for $22k. They'll pay your airfare to come in and buy a car.

If you can find one less than 20k miles, I'd consider that. IF EB was your option.

Almost every EB by me has about 25-30k miles on it.
