Attempted to install Steeda lateral links. Got one in after a while but it started raining so the car's up on jack stands in the meantime. Kicker is, the one arm I did bolt in still isn't seated right. 😠

I came up with these figures for my Mustang and the wheel/tire combos. I hope I did the math right. But, if I did, my summer wheels and tires are much lighter. Don't go too hard on me if I did the figures wrong. :)

so if something is too slick paint won't stick? so if I ask them to make the big mouth smooth as glass, its be bad for the paint? I figured paint was glue, it is so small it lands and sticks
It'll stick just fine. They'll apply some plastic adhesion promoter before they paint it and then some flex additive into the paint.

Took over the engine cover today. I think ill modify it to just use the middle piece.

Had the first oil change done and thought it was funny that the advisor said I would need new tires soon. I have the Sport Cup 2s and explained to him that they only have 1300 miles on them and thats just how they look.

Waiting for my catch can to show up.

I took it to the dealership for a 5k oil change and the brake pedal bracket recall. I left my auto-x number magnets on for the lulz. I also looked at the Mach 1 they had in the showroom. Fighter Jet Gray is a much lighter color than the online configurator makes it seem.

Nice! How do you like the Ryobi polisher?
Thanks! I think it's great.

I'm gonna order more pads/covers and see if there's a softer option available.

The mobile detail guy finally finished. He spent about 5 hours, and I would say 97% of light swirl marks are GONE. He even managed to significantly reduce marks on the decals. Aside from the decals, good luck actually finding anything. It looks better now than it did on the dealer lot. Now I just have to maintain it. Cost me $300...

you posted that at 2am. That's one committed mobile detailer guy!
Where did you find that 6000K light source? I need to buy one for my use.

Yeah, when I heard the polisher tool stop running around 1:30am, I was like, "Whew, FINALLY, he's done.."

polishing means its leveling out imperfections by slightly reducing layers right?

so in theory, if you do a lot of polishes do you run out of clear coat? benefit of doing it yearly, or every 5 years? I wouldn't want to reduce my protective layer at all.

yes. But you would have to be using a pretty heavy abrasive. Though dealers have managed to cut right thru the clear in a hopeless attempt to paper over abysmal factory paint.

You're better off claying and then waxing it heavily. That way future polishing should be limited to getting most/all the wax but not thinning the clear.
