What are your 350R Wheel theft deterrent methods?

Wheel locks, very public parking when out and a garage at night. If they want them it won't be easy, but if you park in the ghetto, you get what you get.

You can easily get a quick $6k to $8k for a set, I've yet to see any for sale.

Its funny you mention that because when I called my company to transfer the insurance over they needed to clarify if it was an R. The person on the phone mentioned something to do with the wheels making the replacement costs skyrocket lol

Same here, she was like GT350 or GT350R...? That's when I knew they had me by the b2ll$ for the premium...lol :frusty:

I have never, ever seen a car without its wheels on it (wheels stolen). Well, except on TV or something. I don't think anyone steals car wheels anywhere around here.

Right, but I can still tell you I've never personally seen even a single car in my entire life with the wheels stolen off it. Not even one.


I remember the photo posted on this forum from somewhere in the south where the dealer had the car parked outside. I assume very few people park their Shelbys outside.

I also assume most live in good neighborhoods.

Dealerships get hit all the time...show up in the morning and 1-5 cars missing wheels sitting blocks !

Mine is simple, I don't own an R. ;)

When I had a shot at a couple of different Rs, I did think about this though. It was one of the many reasons I decided to pass and stick with a regular GT350.

I am hoping that you mean NEAR the curb for those CF beauties. ;)

I was gonna use the lock nuts (which I made them get for me since someone took all the loose items for my delivery, except the splitter), until someone showed here they stripped them at torque. I am actually more worried about the damn CF wheels than the car. Now I am relatively unprotected, altho I have a dedicated dual parking spot in our condo garage (within a gated community). It is one in front of the other up against a wall, so I park the R in the inside spot with my DD in the outer spot (15 CTS V coupe). They'll have to move both of them to get it.
