Weird welds

Just got windows tinted and was looking at car when I noticed a couple weird welds on the passenger side next to the rear windshield. One was in the lower corner down towards the trunk lid, and the other was half way up the pillar in the inside as well. Dont look very clean, and was wondering of everyone had them. Will post pics in a few.

The dealer won't do shit! They will maybe take some pictures and send them to Ford for permission to send you to a body shop, and that decision will take about a week, and if they say no, you're screwed. I went through that with my trunk lid alignment.

Hard to see in the picture, but could it be seam sealer for the body joints? I work at the Claycomo assembly plant in Kansas City in the paint department for the Transit van. Sealer is applied by hand and also by robots and I'll just assume it would be similar on the Mustang. It is then heated and dries hard before it is painted. It just may be the bead of sealer that got laid in there a bit uneven. Of course it could be a crappy looking weld too.

Actually going to run by a local dealer this morning to see what they think. You may be right KCTom I noticed if I pick at it with my nail it sort of falls apart, so its probably not a weld.

Yup, it's sealer if your nail can get into it. I wouldn't pick at it though.

Two different body shops have told me that it is either sealer, or the adhesive that was sprayed over. I guess when they set my rear window they did not remove the excess, and just sprayed paint over the residual. Both Ford body shops actually said they would not recommend having it repaired either. Rear window will need to be pulled, the area will need to be sanded and sprayed, and then paint will need to be be blended into the roof, both fenders, and possible trunk. They cannot guarantee that I will not notice where the work was done, and one shop said most likely the window would eventually leak.

Been trying to get in touch with my Ford CSM, or whatever they're called since Wednesday. Today I actually asked Rachel to get involved, so I am really hoping I receive a call tomorrow about this.

Damn, sorry I complete forgot to follow up.

So here is what I found out from my vehicle.

I was cleaning the car and something caught my eye

It looked like a weird paint issue/weld/whatever. I touched it and it felt somewhat soft to the touch. I was pretty hesitant to do anything with it because I thought it was maybe bad paint and Id have a horrible black/primer mark showing through if I scraped it off. Well it turned out to be a glue/adhesive that after VERY CAREFULLY pulling it away with tweezers I was able to remove almost all of it without one scratch on the paint under neath. So its up to you if you want to attempt. This pic was taken after 90 percent of it was removed, it looks completely normal now after I spent more time with it. I did have an appointment with my dealer, but now that I fixed it myself I saved some time.
