I've noticed a few times after turning off my car that I get a weird sound coming from behind the dash, I'm assuming in the engine bay towards the back of the engine somewhere. It sounds like water being sucked through a straw or like there's air in a liquid line somewhere. It happens as soon as I hit the button to turn the engine off and lasts for a couple seconds and then goes away. It doesn't happen every time that I turn the car off but does happen occasionally. I've checked for any fluid leaks and can't find any. Has anyone else had this happen or have any insight into what this might be? Mods are in my sig below.

I've heard this sound one or twice before but couldn't replicate it to find the source. I did hear my coolant bubbling at one point though. I left it cool off for a few hours, tried to remove the coolant cap and that bitch had a lot of pressure behind it, it actually flew off when I was unscrewing it. I even let it bleed off.. It probably has nothing to do with it, but what thermostat are you using?

I noticed you are in Texas. Are you using your AC system when you hear this noise?

100% normal, mind sounded like a water bottle sloshing around and I have heard it in a few stock cars

Ok, cool, thanks for the feedback guys. That's what I had a feeling it was, glad to see I'm not the only one who has noticed it. I'll try to bleed any air out and see if it goes away.

Yeah I think may AC is on when it happens, but I'll have to double check next time to make sure.

If it coincides with AC usage it is probably related to the evaporator core and could be a light coating of frost breaking up depending on humidity levels, again nothing to worry about.
