Guys, check out these pics... anyone know what this is?? These are the 2015 GT Performance Pack Brembo brakes... I just noticed these dark rings on the rotors this morning. I haven't done any harder braking than usual, even though they look like heat discoloration. The rotors are still smooth to the touch, no grooves/scratches/bumps or anything. Braking feels exactly the same. Still the same bite and force, no vibration or shaking. And as you can see, still same crazy amount of dust. They still squeal at light stops sometimes, but that's always happened. Car has almost 15k miles. Never tracked.

Any thoughts??

Pad build up

Remove discs and use a red scotchbrite to remove it.

Check pads for build up as well

Is there a need to remove it, other than looks?

You need to touch it up. Go to the parts store and ask for brake rotor paint. They should have one in stock that matches nicely.

Update: I left it alone. Discoloration faded then disappeared completely within a few weeks of normal (read: spirited) daily driving. Never noticed any change in braking performance. Not sure what all the attitude was for.
