I am thinking about dropping some unnecessary weight. Does anyone know how much does the factory front seat weights?

I remember someone mentions 190lbs per one so if I switch to light racing seat. Does not it mean over 300lbs lose? Maybe 0.5-1s faster 0-60?

Well forgive me if I am wrong, this is my first sport coupe.

Isn't there a thread that has the weight of almost EVERYTHING in our cars? I remember reading it when I first joined. The literally weighted everything they took off and shared it. I'll see if I can find it.

About 50 lbs per front seat.

The most you'll be able to shave off is about 250 lbs, without going too crazy.

- 25lbs lithium battery
- 40lbs aftermarket wheels
- 35lbs catback exhaust
- 55lbs racing seats
- 30lbs aerorotors
- 40lbs rear seat delete
- 20lbs remove misc parts (airpump, soundtube, engine cover, trunk carpet, floormats)

The seats are not 190 each that's insanely heavy.

I believe their about 80 to 90 lbs with the brackets and all .

The driver is usually one of the most heaviest parts of the car besides the drivetrain. I just turned mine into an RC so I can drive it remotely to save weight.

I put Carbon Fiber Recaros in my Vette, only about $3,000 to be uncomfortable every time you drive the car.

Dang, only 50lbs? so that's like only 30lbs saving each for the sacrifice of cooling and heating. I guess I should focus on losing some weight my self lol. maybe 30 lbs

OEM GT Cloth Seat: 50lbs
OEM Cloth Recaro Seat: 50lbs

Either premium leather seats (regular or Recaros) are about 58 lbs each.

Corbeau FX1 w/ Bracket - 21.7lbs

So best case, you save (58-22 = 36 x 2) approx. 72 lbs if you change both seats.

But you also lose airbags (safety) and possibility some comfort, and if you have premium seats (not recaros) you lose heated/cooled, memory, power seats. That's a lot to lose.

Well I mean.. there are people full weight (3800-3900+) in the S550 running 8's so is savings really needed? I think if you plan on doing a full N/A race build then it would be worth it. Street cars, I laugh when people rip stuff out.
