I smell a rat. I bet the dealer wanted to sell the car to someone else (perhaps having even taken a bribe for it), so they added a preposterous markup just to get out of the original contract, knowing that the buyer will pass (who wouldn't?).

Im not sure. Ive seen 20k on card half the msrp. 40k tracks with that model. Just dealers doing dealer things.

The dealership saved him from making a huge mistake IMO. I'm not a fan of German vehicles, some are nice, but I wouldn't own a Mercedes or BMW after it's factory warranty is over. Especially this one, wow that is ugly and over $100k before the mark up this dealer is looking for. No thanks.
