thats not a mustang specific feature. Waze has been Android Auto capable in non beta status for months now, Mustang included.....

I am aware that it is not specific to Mustang or Ford. The purpose of this thread was to show it off on the Mustang and also to help those who haven't updated Sync 3 to the latest version to support Android Auto. I am sure there are other people who aren't aware.

Can you have an iPhone connected for calls but use an android device for wake?
Don't think so since only one platform can run at a time and requires the Bluetooth connection along with the USB. I assume maybe if you set the iPhone as USB audio you can. However why do that if you have Google Play Music, Amazon Music, etc. integrated as well as part of Android Auto?
