I'm planning a few mods for my '16 GT that's on the way, and i don't want to do anything that voids the warranty. Are there any specific mods that do void it? Such as a tune, or certain exhausts, springs/bags or other stuff? Just don't want to have a problem with ford if something happens to the car when it's not completely stock.

I'd suggest reading through this section, and doing some more searching because these topics have been beat to death.

What one dealer says voids your warranty may not be the case at another, best bet is to get anything in writing from your dealer before you install it if you're worried about it voiding your warranty.

If warranty is an issue, stay away from mods. Forget about modding anything on it because your dealer will find a way to blame it on the mods and you will have to pay for that repair. Keep it stock, most people don't need more than what it comes with. Enjoy the car first and then see if you change your mind on modding the car. I drove my 5.0 for about 5000 miles when I decided to go for a tune. No regrets

Cool I'll check it out. I guess the hardest part is going to be the dealership trying to fight an aftermarket piece voiding the warranty, I just didn't know if a specific aftermarket part automatically voids it

It's so hard to keep stock! The main thing I want to do is an exhaust, not sure if I want to do a catback or axle backs but I can keep everything else stock I just want an aftermarket exhaust setup.

Exhaust behind the cats won't void your warranty. A tune however will. They know if you have or had one....

Yeah I remember reading about something in the car that can tell ford how many times you've changed a tune, maybe I'll just stick to roush axle backs or a muffler delete kinda thing. What if I do lowering springs?

Dealership installed my aftermarket exhaust for me...Yeah I know how easy to install but it wasn't expensive. Anyways, I was in the same boat as you and I wanted to make sure the dealer wouldn't give me any grief for an aftermarket exhaust especially since the car was so brand new at the time. Owned the car over a year now and I'm pleased with only adding exhaust, tint, and all weather floor mats.

I do want a set of rims though but honestly people ask me if they are aftermarket wheels all the time because wheels are typically one of the first mods. I find many other mods tacky especially when it comes to wrapping the hood vents or just about everything stick on like hood scoops and louvers.

I could definitely have my dealership install the exhaust and make sure that since they do it, i can't have any problems. My 3 biggest things I want to do is exhaust, tints and lowering springs. I can keep everything else stock

I'm "partially" worried about warranty lol. I still have factory exhaust manifolds and cats, no tune and factory air box. That being said I have dropped down over 5k in aftermarket goodies lol

Remember, as long as they can't prove the mod caused the issue, you're fine.

With that said, I would go ahead with intake, catback, roush mods but I'd probably wait till warranty is over until touching the ecu. People reflash to stock but I think there is a way they can check this, not 100% sure.
