HI guys, I have something to ask.
When I bought ecoboost mustang new, I also purchased MAPP warranty
6yrs/60k that almost cover everything like engine, electrical stuff, suspension etc. not dent or paint chip door ding though
and reason I bought was because its turbo engine and turbo usually gets some problem here and there (I don't know how much reliable FORD turbo is) and Ford's drivetrain warranty covers only main part of engine and
transmission?? which will not break within that yr provided.
and I really like to do at least exhaust, intake, suspension as now and probably more aggressive once warranty is over but when I call MAPP
of course they said Intake install would cancel lots of engine related warranty. so what do you guys think??
I paid $1500 for this MAPP warranty
and should I shut up and not install any of those and stick with this warranty ?? ( is it worth it and good deal? )
or
Should I cancel it and go my way with Ford's warranty?

My driving style is usually calm, here and there push to high rpm little bit
but not much.. DD stays under 4-5k rpm enough so I can just hear exhaust

tell me what you guys think
thank you!:headbang:

Its tough to justify an extended warranty when buying one of the most modded cars in the industry.

Here's a couple things for you to consider:
1. The turbocharger is covered under the OEM powertrain warranty (and I haven't heard anything about the ecoboost motors being unreliable). Bottom of page 10 if you wish to read it: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/F...ranty-Guide-version-2_frdwa_EN-US_07_2015.pdf

2. You risk being denied a warranty claim any time you modify your car (if the mod caused the problem, you will have to pay for it).

3. Yes, extended warranties are a ripoff (I used to work for a company that sold these). The contract you specifically purchased is probably worth less than $100 (it only adds 1 year on top of your OEM powertrain warranty and no additional mileage, so basically it's just longer coverage for electronics and suspension components).

I would only buy the ford extended warranty as your guaranteed to have that honored at any ford dealership, and its a very well known quantity of what your getting from that. Third party ones, I would only be interested in the tire one (as I basically ALWAYS get more out of it than it costs me... tires are expensive!)

I guess that finance guy F@($@*% lie to me to sell this product, of course he was "Oh you got turbo and turbo problem is not included in powetain warranty" and I was asking but its still main part of engine though.. specially you guy put on it but he was like "nope, but this 3rd party does"

yeah... I read other warranty thread and it seems like if I want wraanty, probably go to every dealership and negotiate and get the ESP with lowed price..

yeah of course when it comes to car, no one knows what would happen and even though mine and yours are exactly same, depends on little habits, it could cause something..

dam..... I still cant decide which route... If warranty covers aftermarket CAI and Exhaust and suspension, I would like to have one...
and it also seems like all the dealers are diff. like some say nope, your warranty is done and some doesn't care and fix it under warranty.

Keep in mind, dealerships do NOT void your warranty, they can just refuse to cover it. You can always revert to stock and/or find a different dealership and try again.

I wouldnt let bolt ons worry you, most dealerships wont blink at a CAI or something like that, just like they wont care if you change your wheels.

Now if you want a bigger turbo, then yes that would ruin any chance of coverage for your powertrain (for the most part).

If your not going to crazy with the mods and want the peace of mind, get ford ESP. Otherwise just dont get anything.

But DEFINITELY undo that third party warranty.
