I thought that they may all be like that but looking down the line at Silverstone the others where good! bonnet pinch, clunk when selecting reverse (auto) ne1 else have this?

Panel alignment good on mine, not perfect, but nothing worth going back in for. Taking it in fora paint chip on the bonnet. Looks like someone lifted the drivers side wiper, which actually fouls the bonnet, and chipped and scuffed the paint. Only small, but down to the metal and visible from inside the car. There is a buzz/rattle from drivers door mirror, but can only hear this when radio isn't on, and don't expect it would be an easy fix. I'll mention it when it goes in for the paint chip.

Paint on rear bumper
Paint on rear bumper again
Misfit rear bumper
Paint on bumper once more
Boot alignment causing rubbing on the top of the bumper
Swimming pool inside the car caused by broken grommet under the cowl and an unsealed panel join.

Boot lid, rear bumper, bonnet all with a degree of misalignment. Big dirty scuff mark on drivers seat, all being done at the minute

It wouldn't be £35k if it was built by BMW or Audi:headbonk:

Are we saying that we should expect these issues on a £35K car? coz if we paid £50K on a BMW we'd be issue free?

What about my current £12K Vauxhall Corsa?, surely it must be misaligned to rat shit then?, not one defect or issue in my 5 year ownership...

Am i missing something here? regardless of cost, if a car manufacturer produces a car, should it not be at least acceptable/minimal issues? - some owners here are obviously living with minimal defects which i would also deem acceptable but theres quite a few having some issues.....

All car's come with issues, even the more expensive ones such as Lambo's and Rari's, I've heard stories of Mclarens doing the same (Panels) etc, however, the more you pay for a car, the less issues, isn't always the case. Your 12k corsa, if you look at its interior panel alignment, won't be great, mine wasn't, the actual pannels aren't aligned too well in general - look at the boot and front bumper (on bottom grille) connection, i could pick out enough faults.
The thing is, because you're paying more, you expect less. However, we're part of the 'early' adopters of the car, take an early adoption Ferrari or Lambo, and look at the issues they have, it's crazy, that's why the 'early' release date reg cars, will be worth less than that of the same car a year later or when they've re released (and i'm talking at depreciation curve).

All that being said, we have warranty, and by god will we use it :paddle::ninja:

Not everyone has alignment issues or these other problems though - mine is fine <touch wood>. My 18 month old BMW company car now has an annoying rattle behind the dash that I can't get rid of however... Paintwork on BMWs is also shocking nowadays, orange-peel everywhere (not so bad on mine as it's poverty-spec white and not that obvious ;)), the Mustang is much better.

We are not early adopters. Panel alignments are just as bad on the US cars. What excuse do they have?
It's a mass produced car. It will have issues not seen on the production line.

Yes I would expect less issues on a McLaren or Lambourghini as they are no where near as highly produced and probably spend longer on the production line.

How long is a mustang on the line for? Couple hours?

I think i see somewhere that a GT take 30 hours to go through the production line...

Jimboy2 By early adopters, we're a new market, the US specs are used to having pannel issues, we've as ford said - got higher standards in cars and what we expect. It takes 3 hours to build the car, but QA, Upfitters, etc take the most time i think. THe actual build isn't long, end to end it could be 30 hours plus (Includes spraying and waiting).

Dont think anyone is saying that. Just that you expect less when you are paying 35k for a car that can compare to a 50k car.

The corsa is irrelevant. Its 12k for a 12k car. The Mustang has the preformace and style of a 50 k car for 35k.

Should there be issues no
Do you expect a few more issues based on price, yes

I dont give a dam. I havent even looked for bonnet pinch, rear panel alignment and all that. It is just an awesome car!
