Awesome thanks for the info! The centrifugal powerband reminds me of turbochargers.

Yeah, before the Mustang, I came from the Fiesta ST platform. My first turbo upgrade was a hybrid, getting 298 whp and stock like spool and torque curve at around 3k rpms. Went to a big turbo and was getting 330ish whp, but torque peak was around 1200 rpms later. When putting around in the lower rpms, the hybrid with stock like torque, all I had to do was one downshift and hit the gas. With the big turbo, I had to bang down two gears to get it into the powerband and get it to pull hard. The HP was great but I missed the down low torque for city driving.

I used this criteria for my choice of FI for my Mustang. I went with the Whipple stage 2 system, for the torque down low. So, really consider your choice and know what you want. I try to live by the motto of "buy once, cry once" and with the prices of the FI systems for the Mustang, you only want to buy one system and be done with it. You don't want to spend big bucks and find out that it's now not what you want and now have to sell it as a loss and shell out more money again. In the Fiesta platform the hybrids are around 1500.00 and big turbos like the Gen 2 Garrett GTX2860R are 2200.00. It didn't hurt so much with that kind of pricing. Now with the price range of 6k to over 8k for a system, a bad decision would really sting. Good luck with your choice.

I completely agree, gotta find something that I cry once over and be done with it so I can move onto having fun! Haha

A centrifugal power band makes more power with rpm. I’m not sure why everyone likes procharger but the reason why I do is because the gear ratio inside is 4 to 1 where Paxton is 3.6 to 1 so it comes on a lot stronger and it has a higher maximum RPM meaning it makes boost faster and it can make more of it.
I do not agree with the stage 2 being a must. I have the carb legal H.O kit and it makes more power than i have personally seen in any stage 2 kit. Also it comes with the stage 2 intercooler Standard.

Please elaborate on the power your setup has made and what the car has ran.

I’m not saying that a stage two hasn’t made more power I’m saying I haven’t personally seen It. the car made 892whp on procharger kit plus all the normal bolt ons and water/meth The car has been in the 8’s With p1x and a 150 shot

If you go procharger route, stage 2 is a must. Much larger intercooler and a dedicated drive belt so if the supercharger belt ever tears or tangles you can still drive the car.
I don’t really understand this argument because you still have a 6 rib serpentine belt on the accessories that in taking on all the extra stress from the power of the supercharger. So if one is going to break it will more than likely be the Smaller weaker accessory belt.
When you install a stronger belt with your H.O kit I don’t see this as a factor. The stage 2 kit does have some benefits but not much and not for the price difference

i was in the same boat, i went vmp gen3. the insta tq is something a centri blower will never have. see if any locals have either setup and go for a ride. imo the price on that gen2r kit isnt that great, i paid 6600 for the gen3 kit, which has the twin 67s and triple pass heat exchanger

I’m sorry I don’t understand what you mean. If you’re referring to the stage 2. not too many people run the P1X stage 2 on s550 in $h!tty California. Procharger will not ship anything but the carb legal kit to California so they have to get it shipped somewhere else and go get it so They usually go Roush

The budget kit is the best value I have seen in awhile. It's a limited run/quantity setup, but a lot of people will love what they receive with the budget GEN2R kit. TVS blowers are a ton of fun on the street. Let me know if I can help out at all.

Probably better to go with the VMP then. To really have fun with a centrifugal you will need an aftermarket torque converter, which will come at the cost of driveability. Ask me how, i know.

Actually I have been wondering, how bad is a 3c or 4c?
