Awesome thanks for the info! The centrifugal powerband reminds me of turbochargers.
Yeah, before the Mustang, I came from the Fiesta ST platform. My first turbo upgrade was a hybrid, getting 298 whp and stock like spool and torque curve at around 3k rpms. Went to a big turbo and was getting 330ish whp, but torque peak was around 1200 rpms later. When putting around in the lower rpms, the hybrid with stock like torque, all I had to do was one downshift and hit the gas. With the big turbo, I had to bang down two gears to get it into the powerband and get it to pull hard. The HP was great but I missed the down low torque for city driving.
I used this criteria for my choice of FI for my Mustang. I went with the Whipple stage 2 system, for the torque down low. So, really consider your choice and know what you want. I try to live by the motto of "buy once, cry once" and with the prices of the FI systems for the Mustang, you only want to buy one system and be done with it. You don't want to spend big bucks and find out that it's now not what you want and now have to sell it as a loss and shell out more money again. In the Fiesta platform the hybrids are around 1500.00 and big turbos like the Gen 2 Garrett GTX2860R are 2200.00. It didn't hurt so much with that kind of pricing. Now with the price range of 6k to over 8k for a system, a bad decision would really sting. Good luck with your choice.
