My wife and I are heading to Monterey - San Fran - Napa in June. No events at Laguna and I've never been there other than driving past the entrance. It is worth stopping to visit? Can you rent a car to drive it? Thanks.

When are you going to be there? Indycar races at Laguna Seca on June 23. Which means qualifying on the 22nd, and practice the 21st. If you haven’t seen an Indycar race that would be a good spot to see one!

First week of June but that would explain why hotel rates are double the third week!

Well, you got a lot of choices when in the Bay Area, Napa certainly, the Hills of Downtown SF, Alice’s Restaurant on Skyline Blvd in the South Bay, Canapa Motorsport showroom/Museum in Scotts Valley and certainly Carmel/Pebble Beach/Monterey/Laguna Seca area.

Many people claim that 17-mile drive is one of the most beautiful drives in USA (Pro-tip, it costs 10-15 bucks to enter the gate, stop for a drink overlooking the 18th hole at the Lodge @ Pebble Beach or lunch and they deduct it from your tab) Not life changing but the view is.

Doubt you can drive on the Track, unless you sign up for an event track day or lunch touring during an event. Which would be worth it.

It’s a County Park with Camping so it’s open every/most days. Open means you can get a look and feel of the grounds perimeter and great views of the track but probably not enter the paddock area or Corkscrew. Just depends on what’s going on at the track that day. With that said the gift shop is in the paddock so just ask. Best is to call them.

On the event schedule for the first week of June is the Cars and Community on Saturday and a Bike the track (which would be interesting) .

IMHO it’s absolutely worth it especially if you hit Carmel by the Sea and Pebble Beach. (Last, pro tip, spend time on Ocean Ave in downtown Carmel. Drive on Ocean ave down to the Beach as everyone does. However, take “Scenic Drive” (last street before the Beach access.) South, this will wind around on the Coast in a residential neighborhood but with awesome views, speed limit is 15mph and you’ll want to go slower.

What ever you do, just hang around Napa or hit the Carmel/Monterey area you can’t go wrong.

We've done Monterey/Carmel many times, beautiful coastal communities, way more laid back than the big cities. 17 mile drive is nice and worth the admission if you've never been there. I snuck out and laid down on one of the greens and did a bathing beauty pose with the Pacific in the background, we still laugh about it. Actually the Drive from Morro Bay up to Montery is THE most spectacular drive in the Country (my opinion of course). The views on the pullovers along Hgwy 1 are phenominal. Theses areas, along with the Sierra, are some of the most beautiful places to visit in the U.S. Have fun, take lots of pictures.

Haha, I camped there by mistake in 1986...ground was so hard could not pitch a tent so I slept in the car. Woke up to the sound of lapping racers, thinking WTF? So I just watched them for a while before moving on home...

I did that too last summer 😁 One of the tee boxes at Spanish Bay. Had lunch at Pebble Beach on the 18th green as well. Great day if you’re a golf fan!

Yes and Yes! It’s a fun place to go and just got a repave.

I live by Sonoma Raceway and used to work in Wine/Beer/Spirits while living in Napa. Reach out if you’re either gonna hit Sonoma or a few wineries. I can offer a recommendation based upon your preferences or if there’s a track day we can kill some tires lol.
