Dear Guys,
Recently I have installed McLeod Raybestos 10R80 rebuild kit in my 18 GT.
Due to converter issues and parts lead time, the car stood for three months in literally one god damn place without tranny. It was not moved whatsoever.
After putting all the pieces together, I noticed that in the speed range of 40-55 mph the chassis and steering wheel starts to vibrate like crazy. Annoying to say the least.

My first suspicion was the wheels. However I changed my winter setup to my summer one and that did not eliminate the problem.

My second suspicion is my QA1 carbon fibre driveshaft. The guys removing the driveshaft did not mark its position when removing it, so I suspect that it was not installed in the same position. This might be, however unlikely imho, the issue.

Sadly, I have no more ideas what might be the problem. Any clues?

Regards,
M.

Rotate the driveshaft. If the DS was not marked before it was removed then most likely it’s probably 180* “out” from its original position, which is causing the driveline vibes.

Always, always, always mark the DS at both front and rear flanges before removing...
