Sounds like some good deals to be had, if you ignore the BoE base rate.

I'm looking at an Audi S3 Saloon this year; I think Audi is mid-4% on PCP, but I like the flexibility of being able to give it back, or just run it for 3 years and then chop it in.

I was tempted to get finance and keep my TVR too, but I use the TVR so little im selling it instead. Ford finance does not seem at all competitive with what's out there.

If you want an example of non-competitive, get an insurance quote from them. Talk about "should be wearing a mask..." ;)

Do some digging, you might find the oddest choices work best for you.

I got Ford's PCP plan which was four-and-change percent at the time. I'll have £15k to pay at the end of it and, plus interest, was cheaper than a bank loan for me as people were offering me an absolutely ludicrous 7-odd percent for anything a penny over £20k! :eyebulge: I guess its because I'm not a home owner; my credit rating is a good 16% above the national average so its all I can think of.

Get a bank loan to pay off the remaining £15k at 3.2% and I'm no worse off.

Exactly my plan, I'll have a balloon of 21k at the end of the 2 years but will be able to stick a good few thousand to get that down to 17k in 2 years so a 17k loan...or I give the car back and go a different direction with my life.

An excellent choice. I've done the same in the past (although the last car I did it with was a C1 so the final payment was easy to save for, or pay off with a credit card!). Thinking of the same with the S3.

Can see where this thread Is going to end up again
Surprisingly it hasnt!
Maybe your words were enough to ward off any self opinionated idiots from posting.

Anyway, a persoal loan is def a good option and I have heard that banks are keen to start loaning money again so its a good time to apply.

Nationwide are doing some pretty good rate and can apply online for an instant decision.

Make sure you get PPI!!

Just to say I talked with someone at Yorkshire/Clyesdale a few days back and they can do a percentage point lower than the ford finance currently being offered if anyone was looking.
