I'm just sorting out the finance for mine, going to buy rather than PCP. Was going to use Ford Acquire as the rate is good but term max is 48 months and I want 60 months. Looking at Alphera (who do a lot of BMW's) and wondered has anyone any experience (good or bad) of using them? Also any recommendations for other car finance firms?

Don't have to be a car finance firm, can re-mortgage or personal loan. I'd say anything with APR over 3% is high, especially when BoE rate is 0.25%!

Never understood the reason for PCP unless you enjoy handing money over

I have a pong lenis....

Right, have a hunt around, lots of places do vehicle financing, PCP, etc, whatever suits you, go for it, I know personally of a few people here who's mustangs are financed on decent deals. Just find the best rate that suits your income/cash flow and you're good to go, there's too many companies and parameters for us to tell you a single company is 'good' or 'bad'

(same goes for insurance)

Best APR I've found is Ford at 4.8% then Alphera at 5.9% and Lloyds at 7.1% I guess I was hoping someone might say go to these guys for a 3% deal because I can't find one anywhere

I was looking at Sainsbury's personal loan but that only allows you up to £19,500 at 3%. Maybe get a friend/relative to take out the other £19,500?!

For the small amount I borrowed (10K) as a personal loan with a well known foreign owned bank that has it's name plastered over just about everything at every airport in the western world, I appear to have got (and I don't understand and don't care to understand all this APR stuff... I just look at the end figure and if it seems reasonable it generally is)... the equivalent of a 1.7% P.A. flat rate over 30 months (or 3.3% APR as they put it)... so there are some damn good possibilities out there!

Just applied online (10 mins to do), got accepted, and the money appeared in my account 30 seconds later... easiest money I've ever borrowed to be honest and quite surprised just how easy it was and how cheap!

I think I got this link from another similar thread on here.

http://www.ybonline.co.uk/personal/loans

Phone number at the bottom for those looking to hire purchase a vehicle over £25000.

Haven't tried them yet as car isn't even built and I'm sure I can just loan the £15000 or so I need at a cheaper rate most likely.

That's pretty similar to what I got and I'd say that's seems like a really good deal!... but there may be more 'loan' savvy people out there better qualified to cast true opinion on that!

Ffs, here we go again:frusty: FWIW, PCP can and does work for some people - the car I had previously depreciated more than I had paid in total over the term so I handed it back i.e. Cost me less than if I'd have bought cash. Also if you can easily afford monthly payments, what is the issue?!

Go to Experian credit matcher , sign up and then get them to assess your credit score. The result will allow them / you to assess the best loan and likely terms. I actually work for Experian (BUT NOT IN THE CREDIT BUSINESS !!) and about 80% of lenders use this same score to say yes or no. The top you can get is 999 I think, which would get you any loan you apply for. I can't say what to do or provide advice on any lender but this free service does give you an idea of what you will likely get in the market. For the record I don't work in this part of the business or get paid by it, I just know it works......

First Direct are offering £0-30K @ 3.3 APR, £30-50K @ 6.7 APR, 1 to 7 years, if you are a customer already. Not a bad deal if you are a customer, way too easy to get, a couple of clicks and the money is in your bank.:eyebulge:
