The VS2 will out perform the stock turbo all day long. No, you will not have the the same type of spool as you do with stock. Also, the stock block will take much more than 400hp. Most tuners seem to not tune customers cars much over 450 though.Stock why? Unless your building your block your HP limited around 400, or so roughly. I can get aux fuel and my bolt ons and have close to that with the stock turbo. My driving is mainly stop light to stop light, I love the stock turbo. I drove a guys map turbo and wasn't that impressed. The only route I would prob go is the Garrett, but I want that Korn first.
That is absolutely true lol. The VS2 having more lag than some of the other kits is the number one talked about thing on this turbo from people who don't own it. Second to that is speculation on reliability, being that Borg Warner is proven and this turbo is not. Also I wasn't being a smart ass, u just said that people were talking about spool on the Vargas stage 2, I was just saying that wasn't true. There were several arguments made, spool was def one of them, but not the most concerning
My point is this, you do not own this turbo and have made it pretty clear you have no intentions on ever owning one. You are not contributing anything to this thread besides negativity. We all understand that you are a big supporter of the MAP Turbo kit with the GTX2867R. You don't own either turbo, so this thread is for people that own the VS2 so we all can post results and reviews for others that may be interested. As mentioned before, Perfweld has already trapped 120mph with the VS2, so it's no punk for being a bolt on stock frame setup. My mustang is somewhat of a daily driver too and the car is still a blast, even with the upgraded turbo.
120mph+ is my goal on the stock block. I'll have E85 here shortly once my auxiliary fuel setup comes in. I do feel people think this is the red headed step child of turbos for the mustang. I could have bought any kit on the market, but I chose this one because I wanted a stock frame bolt in turbo. Having it spool a bit later also helps with wheel spin down low too. So far I like it, but I am not really pushing it yet only being on pump gas. The community is full of haters, instead of embracing the many different options that are starting to pop up for our cars.I think it's a great turbo. I don't like the lag, but you'll get that with any turbo that's bigger than the stock one, some more, some less. I've gone 12.16 at 120 mph with only methanol injection as an Aux fuel. I have a converter on order and am confident ill have a mid 11 second car at 121 - 122 mph when I get that in. I love the fact that it bolts on with a few hours work, and looks stock. I think that people think that it's cool to do a big turbo kit, or that this turbo is a poor man's big turbo. Well, I've gone 120 @ 3785 lbs with a stock engine, so this turbo makes good steam, and my car engine compartment still looks stock.
