I've seen your videos, the car looks to be running really strong. Has part throttle driving changed much with the new turbo versus stock?
Please post this in my new thread. I dont want to take away from the vargas people. Im in this thread to see the results of the vargas. Thanks

Well got my stage two today, only problem is I'm back ordered charge pipes and BOV, contacted Tony to see when he expects it in, have not heard back yet, did anyone else get shorted on parts ordered ? Had my car taken apart ready to Instal, but wife is pissed due to car being in middle of garage, so guess I will be putting car back together unless Tony expects those parts next week, ☹

With the coolant lines, does the top line go in over or under the bottom line?

I'm not gonna lie, this install has been one of the worst experiences in my life, haha. I'm almost there but if it could go wrong, it did...from contamination of the oil return with coolant, to a broken screw head for the coolant lines....awesome, lol. When I'm done with the turbo install, I'll need to do full oil and coolant change over. I suck.

Oh, and fun fact. My car did not have a gasket for the turbo/downpipe connection.

I never saw a gasket. It wasn't left behind in the turbo or the factory downpipe and if it had fallen out, I'm fairly certain I would have seen it as it's fairly large.

Sometimes the donut gasket stays in the down pipe, did the down pipe look flat where it connects to the turbo or like a funnel? Flat =good. Bevelled like a funnel=missing/bad
The top/upper coolant line should be over the bottom, but I'm not sure it even matters to be honest

It really not a hard job set aside 2-4 hours depending on your skill level. The car needs to be completely cooled off. Remove the air intake, remove the hot side charge pipe, remove vacuum lines from turbo, remove the 2 DP bolts from the turbo, remove the small wieght on the motor mount to gain access to the lower heat shield torx headed bot, remove heat shield, clamp coolant hoses at rubber or drain coolant, remove coolant and oil lines, remove turbo. Tools needed 8, 10mm shallow sockets 13 and 15mm deep sockets. 8mm box in wrench, hose crimp plyers or vise grips for coolant lines plyers or needle nose for the vacuum lines and a 27 torx bit for the heat shield. I didn't remove the DP I just moved it out if the way, be prepared to fight it alittle going back together if you do it this way. If you pull the DP you'll have to remove the O2 sensors. I have the turbo replacement data from all data, if you want it pm me with an email address and a note stating so

I am only on revision 2 so far with this turbo on 93 octane. The car has a different sound and feel to it. As far as daily driving the car, the increased lag doesn't bother me at all. It still has enough power to take off hard and to pass when needed. Everyone made this turbo out to be a turd because of its spool characteristics, but I am glad I didn't listen to them.

Again, what turbo are you running?
Stock why? Unless your building your block your HP limited around 400, or so roughly. I can get aux fuel and my bolt ons and have close to that with the stock turbo. My driving is mainly stop light to stop light, I love the stock turbo. I drove a guys map turbo and wasn't that impressed. The only route I would prob go is the Garrett, but I want that Korn first.

Also I wasn't being a smart ass, u just said that people were talking about spool on the Vargas stage 2, I was just saying that wasn't true. There were several arguments made, spool was def one of them, but not the most concerning

I think it's a great turbo. I don't like the lag, but you'll get that with any turbo that's bigger than the stock one, some more, some less. I've gone 12.16 at 120 mph with only methanol injection as an Aux fuel. I have a converter on order and am confident ill have a mid 11 second car at 121 - 122 mph when I get that in. I love the fact that it bolts on with a few hours work, and looks stock. I think that people think that it's cool to do a big turbo kit, or that this turbo is a poor man's big turbo. Well, I've gone 120 @ 3785 lbs with a stock engine, so this turbo makes good steam, and my car engine compartment still looks stock.
