I've noticed the valves pinging on my 2020 Mustang GT under moderate to heavy acceleration. I couldn't duplicate it for the dealership, which is par for the course, but was told the sensors hadn't detected any spark knock. Admittedly, the noise I'm hearing is relatively slight and likely inaudible to the untrained ear, but it's frustrating because I know something's not exactly right. It's bone stock, right down to the factory air filter, and I've been using Shell premium gas since I bought it. Recently, I've been experimenting w/different brands of gas and, to my surprise, BP has helped, but not cured the issue. I'm currently testing out Mobil, but not overly optimistic about the noise going away completely.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should proceed in trying to figure this out?

You could be hearing the usual valvetrain noise, but not sure how you can hear that over a roaring engine/exhaust at WOT.

I would not really worry about it, valves don't really ping but they do make some noise. As does the DI pump. You have full warranty for the next 5 years, run it until you have any real issues.

Back in the day, I recall that pinging sound being referred to as valve ping. Perhaps it's more commonly known as spark knock these days?

A few months ago, I did add a bottle of Lucas Oil octane booster to a tank of gas and it seemed to do the trick, but I shouldn't have to do that. Are there any issues or concerns about using octane booster on a regular basis?
