I'm thinking I would like to get better sound from my V6 stereo and thought it might be good to swap out the stock speakers for better ones, possibly add a sub as well but I do not want to change the head unit as I don't want to lose Sync or the functionality of the steering wheel controls. Has anyone done this yet? Planning to? I'd love to get some advice/ideas :)

Still waiting for aftermarket head unit options to replace the 4.3" V6 base radio. I just saw the Sync 3 video posted. An aftermarket head unit with Capacitive Touchscreen (like Sync 3) would be an amazing upgrade. Especially since us (V6) base audio system owners did not invest (cough) in the more expensive OEM options. With hindsight, glad I had no choice actually. ;)

Crutchfield as of now only shows 2015 stereo options for F250, 350 and Transit! :eyebulge:

Anyone know if Sony, Panasonic or manufacturer have good stuff in development for our base Mustang upgrades? I read the Parrot link above, but no info on an actual system availability date or price range. A lot of marketing buzz words. But no mention of time frame.

Is Parrot a real option to consider? They say their tech is awesome, but are they a real player in competitive car audio market? At this point Parrot feel like smoke and mirrors.

I am waiting for this as well... I hope the aftermarket comes up with a center stack bezel replacement like they did for the 2010-2014 generation. Should have the ability to mount in a 2 din headunit and if they wanted to get fancy they could add the toggle switches at the bottom.

Personally I am waiting to see more from the parrot rnb6 headunit. From what I have seen it looks amazing and can completely replace sync. Sync is currently the only problem I have with the car as it hasn't worked right since a month after I bought the car.

I'm not sure about changing the head unit. I want all my steering wheel and voice commands to function properly . I have a 2013 Fusion with Sync and I like it. Rarely ever have an issue with it and since getting an iPod well now it's really amazing as I can use my voie to do so much more! I'm thinking more along the lines of upgrading speakers, adding an amp and sub. I think that will be the best for me.

Most 2 din radios will intergrate with the steering wheel controls just fine. There are even some that will intergrate with the sync system itself.

I believe these Panasonic AVIC 8000/8001NEX do integrate with Sync and steering wheel controls in the 20 14 Mustang. but Crutchfield and others have not created it to adapt it to the 2015 center stack yet.

I created a separate thread for the 4.3 inch base stereo head unit replacement. I'm hoping it will get more eyes I'm all the base GT owners.

I posted a link for the capacitive touchscreen Panasonic for Android coming out in March. AVIC - 8001NEX
