Recently I've noticed that sometimes both the center console and front USB ports do not work. I have a blue LED light for accent purposes plugged into the front port and use the center console one for my Android auto connection. Initially I thought it was either my phone or a bad cable, because randomly Android Auto wouldn't connect, but once I installed the blue led accent, I realized that it was the USB ports themselves. Whenever the Android Auto wouldn't initialize, the blue LED won't light up either.
I saw a few posts with people mentioning they have had USB port issues, so I was curious if anyone understands why. Those other posts seemed to be complete port failures, not intermittent like this.
I also did the unofficial Sync 3.4 update, but this issue has been occurring longer than the software update so I don't believe it is related to that change.
Any ideas or suggestions? I'm worried the dealer will try to claim the Sync 3.4 update caused this, so I'm trying to solve on my own.
