So ever since I got my ‘17 GT back in November 2017, both of my USB ports have not worked, meaning they do not give power whatsoever. The other middle port to the right of the usb port beneath the radio screen (not sure what you call it) is working perfectly. I’ve taken the car to ford to diagnose it and they were trying to charge me over $100 for that s*** so I gave up and didn’t bother. Now that I want to upgrade the car’s radio so that I can get apple car play, i need to fix both usb ports. Currently the car doesn’t have the middle hub for the center console usb port. So I am assuming that the hub is what gives power to both usb ports and not the other port that is currently working? I do not want to buy a hub and that not ending up being the reason.

Any other possible suggestions to check what is causing the ports to not give power at all?

I've read on here that the hub is what powers the front usb so you will need that. Other than that check fuse, but I'm also wondering what fuse goes to the USB ports since the fuse diagram in manual does not list a fuse for the usbs. If someone could weigh in on what fuse goes to the usb ports that would be great.

My USB connections randomly don't work. What ends up fixing it for me when that happens is a reset of the HU. I hold the power and forward track button down until the HU restarts and magically the USBs work again. IDK why it does this, but for some reason that seems to do the trick for me. I have a 2018 with Sync 3 (upgraded to 3.4 using Cyanlabs tutorial). I checked my hub connections and they seem solid, so I really don't know what the issue is.

Give a HU reset a try and see if it works.
