Since Mustang Motorsport have a roadworthy car with the US spec side mirrors, I'm assuming we'd be able to install them with no hassle on our stangs?

Ours are auto folding (due their size) so there will be different wiring.

there is a difference between a private import and a factory compiled car for the ADR's, YOU need to check the ADR's to see if the percentage of visible area is acceptable.

download the ADR's from your state transport department website and find out for yourself what you can and cant do.

give a man an answer and he'll ask everything, teach a man to find the damn answer and he'll probably still ask again but at least you have an excuse to get drunk.

Ahhh crapola! Regardless i'd happily forfeit our folding mirrors if it was an easy swap. Doesn't look like that's the case though.

Why would you want a smaller rear vision mirror? I hate small mirrors.
When you are checking for cars coming up on your blind sides, you need everything going for you. Plus they are bloody useless!
Ian.

Because they pair much better compared to the dumbo mirrors we receive. Simple as that

A lot of the reviews in the US knocked the small mirrors, saying they were useless. The yanks are lucky as they have the option of BLIS, which makes the small mirrors ok.

smaller mirror does look better in my opinion but we don't get blind spot monitor as a option like us spec .

On a side note to the mirrors, does anyone know what Mustang Motorsport has done with the tail lights on the converted and registered car. Are they still red ? Were they allowed to keep sequential lights as I have notices some early left hand drives here in SA are using brake lights as indicators.

I think they installed additional LEDs external to the tri bar tail lamps as the indicators - in the bumper or similar.

I own a Z3 which has a large rear vision mirror and large, square side mirrors.
I also own an M Coupe which is essentially the same car with a smaller rear vision mirror and smaller, round side mirrors (amongst other things).

The smaller mirrors have never bothered me, in fact, I'd like to get the smaller ones for my Z3 because they look better!

On the flipside, my IS250 has HOOOOGE mirrors on it, I can see the moon and the kerb without moving my head. Sometimes that's really nice :)

BUT, the difference is, the IS250 is a slow cruiser where cars do occasionally approach me from behind.

The Mustang? How often will people be gaining on you? ;)
So I don't think smaller mirrors are going to be much hindrance.
