So... I now have a Mustang... To summarise...

- Purchase US keyfob
- Program to car and test
- Sell keyfob onto someone who can actually use it if it doesn't work (which is very likely)

Anyone know anyone willing to buy the keyfob if it doesn't work?

@Cypherious

Thanks for posting and confirming @Chappers post is effective.

I've enquired about additional keys at my local dealership in the U.K.
They get very twitchy and generally don't want to engage, muttering something about VIN numbers, etc.

Do you mind sharing approximate costs?
Cheers.

@Supersolo I picked them up from a factoy direct distributor who sells the fobs to Ford, so you save money by avoiding the markup. Keys were $110 a piece and I got them from https://www.ebay.com/itm/352894854573. Make sure your frequency matches (manual vehicles are 314mhz I believe).

Thanks for the replies.

Sorry for the slight hijack. I'll admit, I've got a related, but slightly different interest.

It's silly, I have a MY19 GT with the new key, but I want the keyback with "GT" on it, as I believe Ford GT owners keys have. I was thinking of ordering a GT key, but it doesn't seem to be anything a U.K. dealer wants to consider/offer.

Don't recall posting this in here before but....

If you want the facility to heat the car up before you set off then you could do worse than one of these: https://www.google.com/search?q=ken...0j69i57j0l6.6237j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

I had one on a MK2 Escort years ago and plugged into a mains timer so when I'd go out in the morning it was already just about up to running temperature without me having to do a thing, with the added bonus of the oil and most of the ancillaries being up to temp without even turning the engine over so a definite advantage over plain old remote start.

Costs can't be too dissimilar either from the looks of things.

Who’s going to be the first to try this mod to get remote start

I've been tempted but I doubt I'd use it except for showing off :giggle:
