Have a great day. "[/QUOTE]

I got this email from a sales rep at the dealership I ordered my stang from.
"Dear Jaime

Ted's been promoted to Business Manager and he and I will both be watching out for your special ordered 2015 Mustang.

As of today, it's scheduled for production the week of 8/27 (estimate only)."

My reply:

I see you are from Austin, if you don't mind me asking, which dealership did you order from?

That would be the display units! If they won't let you drive it, find another dealer. There will be plenty out there by the end of September.

PS, my previous post meant you were portraying a shitty outlook because you didn't read the threads about scheduling. Everything is normal so far.
Funny, Ford has notified Dealers that no new 2015 Mustang Orders will be accepted until 9/10, fine. Now, when will they get around to scheduling a JOB 2 date so legitimate 2015 Mustang "Convertible" orders can be imputed to the Unscheduled Order Bank? All the chatter is concerning the Fastback Coupe. Those of us awaiting the Convertible have (zero) information! Spring of 2015 looks more and more likely.

Nothing has changed yet on the production schedule. relax, the information you seek has already been posted.

I ended up going with Mac Haik, Leif Johnson was not willing to work with me one bit. I used to sell cars there from 06-07 and got my first 06 GT there for employee pricing. I went back and got a 2010 GT for under invoice and after the flood here in Austin I went back and purchased a 2013 Lariat for invoice. But they did not budge for me on my Stang.... I liked working with those guys but it left a sour taste in my mouth. I was buying 4 cars in an 8 year time span and they wouldnt work with me. I got invoice with Mac Haik.

That's odd. My family's been buying vehicles from Leif Johnson since 1987 and have worked closely with someone there for almost 22 years.

Hey guys hate to be the bad news guy but just some FYI. I ordered a 2011 Explorer Limited from the same dealer I ordered my 2015 GT PP. When the completely new redesigned Explorer came out and I put my order in right as order bank opened (like Mustang) my explorer sat at the factory for 3 months. The status changed from "released" to "back to plant" to "re-released" multiple times. Don't let the name Mustang give you a false sense of security about build schedule. This is an all new car, new platform, new body. The three most important models to Ford are the F150,Mustang,Explorer. So even though I ordered on 5/23 and my car might be complete end of August it might not see my dealer until end of November. Happened with Explorer. Something to think about.

Don't forget to tell them not to put their stupid obnoxious dealer decal advertisement on your rear bumper. Your car is not a billboard. Amazes how many people drive around with those. I refuse to accept a car unless it's removed.

That's gotta be a regional thing, because I see it all the time in Florida, but I've never seen a dealer do that in NY. They just put on their dealer branded license-plate frames, which a lot ofpeople leave on, out of laziness, I guess.

It is a regional thing putting those gaudy license plate (Tag) frames on Vehicles displaying the Dealerships Ad. MOst Dealerships simply place a small decal on the rear of the car that can be safely and easily removed. Years ago, they actually drilled "holes" and screwed in Metal Dealer Advertising tags. Again, most of this nonsense is in Southern States, go figure, huh? Florida and Texas are notorious. In Florida Arriego Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Fiat actually spray paints their Dealership name on the Spare-Tire Cover of Jeeps that have the wheel attached to the rear door! Many Dealerships in Texas actually etch into the rear bumpers of Pick Up trucks the Dealerships name too! I insist all that Dealer crap be carefully removed (if already installed) or never attached if its a Retail Order before I take delivery of the Car.

Why is there any other kind of news?
That's all I've gotten since I order. My order got screwed up and had to be reentered twice. The first time, a week after it was submitted, it disappeared of the face of the Earth and nobody could figure out why. The second time it went in incorrectly as had to be fix, buy the third week when it was finally right and in as part of the dealer's stock allocation to be pulled on 7/17 Ford instead decides to cancel all scheduling that week until Aug 14th. Then of course a week after that they delayed it again another month to Sept.11
Hopefully it'll be here just in time for the first snow storm

Cheer up! Your 2015 Mustang Fastback Coupe will still arrive 4 to 6 months before anyone gets their hands on a 2015 Mustang Convertible!
