In the short amount of time my car was on 93, the exhaust note and burbles were far more aggressive. On E85 I get 0 burble or “backfires” between shifts or on decel. My assumption is that switching to E85 is what changed things for your car.
Ah Ha!!! I wish you would have seen and replied to this thread earlier ! I was driving myself crazy trying to figure this out. Do you run E85 exclusively?

I do run E85 exclusively now, I have for the last 3.5 years or so. However, I used to transition between E85 (spring/summer) and 93 (winter storage). And I vividly remember that on 93, if I shifted slowly I’d get an audible “POP” between shifts and my decel sounded much more aggressive.

I'm thinking maybe I should do that.....I just don't want the hard starts in the winter when I crank it up. I live in Maryland and we get very harsh winters up here. The only driving I do in the winter is just around the block every 3-4 weeks. This is what winter looks like for him...

I’ve had good luck with my E85 starts being almost unrecognizably different from 93. Other than the 93 octane cold starts are louder IMO.

Oh I’m am! I’m done with 93 octane. I just need to research a good winter storage system with the E85
My car gets parked each winter in a heated garage with a full tank of E85 (verified E content of 85). I start it a few times each winter and do nothing else for the fuel/fuel system. No issues in 3+ years now.
