attention @RocketGuy3

"This is certainly an interesting story, and highlights that there is probably a bit too much parroting and fear of dissent in certain parts of the scientific community (I think this is especially true when it comes to western medicine and pharmacy). No one is suggesting you should believe everything you read or take it at face value... but this still offers no evidence that global warming is not very real and human caused. The evidence in favor of my side still abounds, and this article is just the story of one unscrupulous bit of research, not even counter-evidence.

Even the scientist here is not saying anything to suggest that climate change isn't real or didn't play a role on the fires. He's just saying he had to change the focus of his research to get published. He thinks that at this point, we need to focus more on mitigation than prevention, which is, sadly, probably true."

Hello; Interesting approach you have. A thing is man caused climate change has been cussed and discussed at length in other threads. Perhaps more on the content of those and new discussions another time. Perhaps do a search of my posts about climate change and address those comments. Up to you.

Back to your above quotes. Makes sense to me that scientist did not say anything to suggest climate change isn't real. His goal was to be published after all. The point is he understood there was a better chance to be published if he could wedge in something about climate change. That he admitted to doing so as an aid to be published is the unexpected part of the story. My guess being such has hurt his career.
A point likely being had he cast doubt on "human caused climate change", then his chances of being published, at the time , would have been lower to perhaps nil.

We also need to set some definitions. There is natural climate change which is known to be an ongoing process and also is known to have happened over all of the earths past. Those natural forces wax and wane to one degree or another. What you appear to want to do is to lump natural climate change in with human activities without any delineation of the two.

Humans can and do affect the environment. We may have some small affect on general climate. That I do concede. There are several distinct areas of discussion with regard to human activities and climate change. Let me pick one to start. What will net zero look like if we can get there next week.
Net zero carbon next week will not stop warming according to the models I have studied. The more common outlook two or four years ago was even at net zero today warming will continue for at least 50 years to 100 years or so regardless.
I have not studied any revised outlooks the last year or so. I predicted the unpleasant parts would be revised. Do not know if that actually happened. I suspected someone would revise the tale to imply net zero will have immediate positive effects.

Then there are the flaws in the climate models .............

EPA moves to kill off Californian regulation waivers allegedly increasing national prices

“In December 2024, the EPA approved Californian vehicle regulations requiring manufacturers to comply with more stringent emissions standards and to produce more zero-emission vehicles without sending them to Congress for review, as is typically required. The regulations specifically targeted the manufacturers of cargo trucks. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin argued that these last-second regulations did not go through the proper channels and that they impose costs on all Americans, not just Californians.”

Hello my comments; Seems a good example of an unelected alphabet agency trying to sneak a part of their own agenda in just before it was too late. A deception at the very least. Perhaps it will not stick.

I did it. I just paid off my home! 8 years into my 30 year loan. Couldn't have done it without my 2 room mates I had for 7 years, all their rent went towards my principal. - I no longer have the mustang, but at least I got me a house now!

Hello; Terrific news. Now you can relax a bit. A story. For some time now i have been stopping by the county court house from time to time to check on my home deed. TN has an electronic database of all properties. I would drop by with a dozen doughnuts or a box of chocolates and accidently leave such on the counter. First couple of times the clerk would say " you forgot your stuff" . I would reply " no I did not and leave.
I stopped by today to check and asked if having no new actions on my deed meant there was not any title theft. Unfortunately such is not the case. Turns out that sort of thing for some reason does not show up at the office.
One of the clerks gave me a place to go to on the internet TITLE SEARCHER.COM. I have not tried this yet. may have some sort of fee.

But congrats on the clear title.

Hey congrats man! It took me 15 years but about a year ago I made my last payment. Great feeling. I received a similar congratulatory message from the bank which was clearly automated. My banking rep reached out to ask if I wanted to invest more with them now I wasn't making that payment and I wanted to say all I get is an automated message. This was more of an accomplishment to me than she realized and maybe just a congrats might have led to them getting more of my money.
Maybe you can get yourself into another Mustang.

New stove that plugs into a normal wall outlet could be major gain for health and the climate
Hello; Attention @K4fxd. Ignore the climate change aspect of the link. My question is around the idea that a four-burner electric stove can be supported by a 120 volt outlet.
I understand that the stove in question is an induction sort. What I do not follow is how a 120 volt outlet on likely a 30 amp circuit breaker can support all four burners. I see hot plates that plug into wall sockets, but they usually have only one burner.

I get this link is a climate change article focused on how bad natural gas is and all the climate change hustle. Does an induction stove draw a lot less current?

They were forced to scam others worldwide. Now thousands are detained on the Myanmar border
Hello; My guess is all of us have gotten scam phone calls and e-mails. I get many each day except Sundays. Some days I get 20 or more. Was much worse in the past. Now I have a new land line phone service which announces the caller out loud, so i do not get quite so frustrated. Still get the calls.
Same for e-mails. I am reluctant to open most e-mails. Have one i am debating about right now.

When I opened the above link and realized all those people squatting on the ground were arrested for being phone scammers, I was cheered up. That they seemed miserable fits for folks who have scammed others out of their life savings. I stopped reading at the point the author tried to pitch as how these criminals are being treated badly, and we should feel for them.

If you have not seen the film THE BEEKEEPER, I suggest it for viewing.

Crews called as dumped batteries 'exploded' in fire
Hello; The above link is about a new tool for fighting Li-ion battery fires was tested, apparently for the first time. A bit in the story caught my attention. That bit being that someone dumped around two tons in the woods. My question being who winds up with two tons of old li-ion batteries to discard?
I do have a small container of old batteries I need to get rid of. I take the old batteries to a local BATTERY shop. I buy my batteries from the shop, and he has a container in which i can discard my old car and small batteries. Now he might wind up with a couple tone of old batteries, but I do not think he dumps them in the woods.
