Did you install led or cfl lights in the garagedoor opener? I did and when the lights are on, the range blows. Once the motion light goes off it works from a decent ways away.

Weird, I've been noticing this too. I got the new badass "Jackshaft" opener from Liftmaster with the MyQ add-ons and stuff. I have to be in the actual driveway to open it with the Mustang. My wife's 2013 Escape will open it several houses down the street so the door is almost 100% by the time she hits the driveway.

I have a genie unit and it's worked well for me, 50 or 60 ft average range.

Paired mine up a few days ago to a Genie opener.

Works no problem, 5-6 houses down. Paired first try too...

Mine works pretty well. I can be about two houses away and it will start to open. I did have to pair it the "old fashioned" way by pressing the button on the opener itself.

Mine is kind of weak, but the one in my 3 series was too. I pretty much have to be pulling into the driveway for it to register. Meanwhile the 50 cent remote that came with the opener can trigger it from 5 houses away... go figure.

My door open has a better range than the universal one in the Mustang. Also, the color and number of "flashes" of the Mustang's LED's when I programmed it did not match the video's or instructions. But once I ignore this, it programmed fine. Now I have 2 free button to use elsewhere. Oh yeah, the remote on my Mustang doesn't even have the little "house" around the center button...
My 2013 Mustang with homelink worked from 150 feet away on the street. My 2015 Mustang requires the car to be about 10 feet from the garage door. So yes much less range in the new version.

I have a really old garage opener. Luckily, the Mustang transceiver and the garage opener coordinated very simply. My driveway is about 110 ft long...I can activate the opener while I am still in the street. My conclusion is...working distance is determined by the sensitivity of your opener, not too much by the Mustang's transmitting power.

If i hold my button down for 2 sec's it works much better than a simple quick tap. I can get the door to open from further down the street if I hold it briefly. Doesn't make sense to me, but seems to do the trick.
